he's no worse than Mangala.. you don't need a world beater to be your 4th CB.Not for me, never has come close to being good enough.

Exactly this. Palmer is a superb finisher with either foot. He's brilliant at taking those half chances on the edge of the box. Cool and composed. It isn't against a solid bank of 10. I suspect this is where the strength and power of Haaland will be most useful as he will be able to hold it up, release it to the creators, and then go again to get on the end of the attack. In addition, Palmer and Alvarez add to the finishing ability. Granted, not yet in the PL, but both have a natural finishing prowess at the level they have played at.
Ake only leaves at the right price, which would be more than what we paid as he was improving loads last seasonFor me:
Haaland adds goals Jesus doesn’t get
Phillips adds legs Fernandinho no longer had
Cucurella adds left back attacking zinchenko can’t do (much as I like him)
Alvarez is an unknown bit replaces sterling who isn’t a staring 11 player
Ake leavimg is an issue - but only with numbers as he never really convinced as a starter
May as well bring Savic back as well, that should really please the dressing room.he's no worse than Mangala.. you don't need a world beater to be your 4th CB.
are people now actually losing their shit over how to hypothetically replace our 4th choice CB?...We just signed Erling fucking Haaland, nice and early too...replaced Dinho with an England international...have the reigning SA POY coming in...signed a keeper who was rated behind only Neuer last season in the Bundesliga as our back up keeper...are on the verge of signing a young, dynamic LB (a true, natural LB, imagine that)...and some are creating a buzzkill over whether Ake stays or goes!!!!

Said that earlier in the thread but opinions on how good he is seem to be varied. As a fourth choice/back up you're not gonna get much better who are willing to sit on the bench and he's on a free.If Ake does go how about Jason Denayer as 4th choice CB. Contract up at Lyon and is still only 27.
THB is signing for Burnley on loan.If we're going down the not really good enough but will do to share 4th spot with THB or Mbete then my £10 would be to go for Ben Mee.
That is not a bad suggestion a free transfer and wouldn't demand too much wages; wouldn't haven't any issues registering Mee either. If we're going down the not really good enough but will do to share 4th spot with THB or Mbete then my £10 would be to go for Ben Mee.
like you I can get to worrying pretty good myself, but I honestly don't feel that now is that time...coming off a 4th title in 5 years, signing Haaland, etc. etc....now is the time to bask in it a bit, at least for me, lol,,,I get that's its conversational and all that, but it seems the more some of us say don't worry, Txiki, Pep and the boys have got it covered the more the panic and anxiety level rises over relatively minor issues...I can be as negative as anyone, and strongly believe that if something can go wrong it will, but you've summed it up perfectly.
Seems that some people are only happy when they have something to worry or complain about.
Really need to keep a sense of perspective.
KDB playing off the back of Haaland is a fantastic prospect and, yes, sure to be unsettling for any opponent...SPOT ON
we have strengthened in the parts we have needed for a couple of years now if truth be told,
the lack of strikers have been a main issue in BIG games and Champions League, yes pep has worked wonders on the false 9 and the rotation in that format, but having strikers is something else and the option to keep others guessing
the BIG thing for city and pep in the new season is having KDB to feed the strikers and not the other way round
yes, Kevin is a world-class player and can play in all sorts of roles, BUT just having him back to feed will scare the rest to the bones
