Fully agree with Ahsan. It's the most important position to improve and we are playing a stubborn game when we need to sign one player. In one year, or two years it would be still the same unsolved problem. It's not a wish, but an obligation. Everyone is happy with Haaland, ok, but that unsolved problem is alarming.

We can always buy another player but Zins quality as a person will be harder to replace. If he does not want to go then it is good news. Fans are jumping onto this ‘problem position’. It don’t exist, we have more than capable players at the club who have done and will continue to fill the role. Upgrades are all well
And good until you realise the fee is unreasonable and the player might never perform to the level required. New player has question marks, we know what Zin contributes to the team.

There's still 6 weeks left - time is on our side

Brighton will be doing work behind the scenes to get a replacement lined up - i really think this one is just a matter of time.

Also we've just won 4 out of 5 PL's, worst case scenario we don't get him - we've done alright for the past 5 years without a natural LB
Bro, but it's the same excuse as one or two years ago. Just sign a left-back. Why are we creating problems instead of solving them?

OK, I get the human aspect and I agree, but is Zinchenko a top left-back? For me no. So why is this a huge problem to sign anyone just for an upgrade? I simply don't get it that the club has left this unsolved problem for ages. It's never a priority for us, but Zinchenko will be targeted as he was by the counterattacking teams. Simply I don't understand "Here we Go" from Fabri and upgrades from Ornstein about Zinchenko and still our stubbornness about "not meeting the asking price" for Cucurella.

A wow window but a lot of changes. Not a fan of moving out some many players at once. Consistency would suffer.
My feeling is with Sterling, Jesus & Gundog entering the final year of their contracts, this team has run it's course & is as good as it's going to get & has gone as far as it'll reach.

Sterling & Jesus needed fresh starts & good luck to them both. Gundog is unlikely to be a starter, or offered an extension, so a similar but younger type of player in FDJ would be a long term upgrade.

It's unbelievable that we STILL don't have a specialist LB, which is why I feel we need Cucu & one from Raum or Sosa. Even with all these changes, most are upgrades & it still leaves us with more than the core of the squad we had last season.

Haaland & Alvarez are hopefully upgrades on Jesus, but I'd still be mindful of replacing Sterling, as his goals & assists will be sorely missed, if not adequately replaced.

In these respects, I've personally few issues making so many changes. We need that something extra to maintain our quest to stay ahead of the PL chasing pack, & to unlock the Champions League we so badly want & squandered vs Chelsea.

Yeh i agree tbf - It feels like it should be an easy problem to fix - been neglected for far too long!

Just unfortunate how Mendy turned out (in every sense) he should have been ripping it up for the past 4/5 years

Yeah, it's unbelievable not to sign an LB, but people would criticize all of us because we have won back-to-back Premier League's.

Injury crisis, Vini Jr. against Fernandinho 1 vs 1 in CL, but we still do not need a full-back. It's only about drawing conclusions.

You need to chill and stop panicking. We have won the league 4/5 seasons. Cancelo was regarding as one of the best if not the best fullback playing at left back.

City have long passed the stage where they paid well over their valuation of a player. If we don't sign a full-back there is no major impact as we have solutions

The end of last season was bad luck in that the injuries all happened to the defence at the critical time. If not we would have been fine.

Our major rivals Liverpool have no better backups to first teamers.

Of course it would be better if we signed Cucurella but its hardly a disaster if we are unable to

I am beginning to feel that we will not sign a new LB until Pep leaves City.
So in one year, we will sing or we will never sign an LB ;) It's always a neverending unsolved problem. We could sell everyone who could play as a LB and Pep would probably play Kalvin Phillips as a LB instead of LB specialist ;)))

Bro, tell me, what is that argument about winning the league IN COMMON with signing a left-back? IMO zero in common, because that position is a weakness and we have to upgrade it. It has zero in common if we have won the league or not. It's not an argument in terms of signing a left-back or not. That position is a weakness for ages for us and every club apart from City would like to solve that problem ;)

Zin is our Swiss Army Knife he can play in lots of positions not just left back. We should keep him for that reason and buy Cuc for left back. It doesn’t have to be a replacement if it makes sense.

As I said before. We need a LB regardless he stays or not.

We don’t know how good Cucu will be until signed. We do know that Zin fights and works hard for the team albeit with limitations.

It is not a priority because we have players of quality who can step in when needed. If Zin goes we will buy a lb.

The fee is too high for Cucu.

Everyone knows that the fee would be too high, but better to pay 5-10m£ more than stay with the problem for the next year. We don't know if there is a possibility we would sign anyone cheaper. Everyone knows for ages that we should pay 50M£.

Cucurella will be starting left back within a month and half of joining. Left footed , orthodox, great defensively which our left backs struggle at. He joins he starts, kept Salah quiet at anfield when Salah was in his best form last season

I admire your optimism and hope you are correct. However, if we have to go with Zin again we would be fine. It’s not a problem position.
