Bernardo Silva

Yes, if Bernie wanted the move and Neymar did.

Bernie is my favourite player but if he still has his heart on leaving, then why the hell not, if it included no fee?

We would still need a replacement for Bernie, but Neymar would be more filling the Sterling side.

Pep is no fool, he would not take him if he didn't think he would pull his tripe out, otherwise he doesn't play.

I'm only looking at it through the prism of how Soriano might look at it.
Firstly let me say I am asking this question respectfully mate.

Am I right in saying sometime back that you alluded to us signing an attacking player if we lost both Sterling and Jesus and if so what changed since we did indeed lose them both?

I still think we will, we must have the cash to do so!

I’ve said all summer that I’d be delighted with one more year from him. Hopefully Pep can get him to agree to that.

If not, I’ll be gutted but we’ll just have to deal with it. He’ll leave an absolute legend for us. One of the very best to pull on the blue shirt IMO.

Gutted to listen to that interview, thought last season and the addition of Haaland would have brought a reset in his thinking.

Bernie clearly couching his words because he still thinks there might be an opportunity to leave this window.

That's why the claims we rejected Neymar for Bernardo doesn't smell right.

There's absolutely no way we would reject such a deal, zero.

Bernie and his missus would jump at Paris and the lifestyle he and his missus enjoy.

I'd be on the blower right now if it was ever an option. More surprised Soriano and Pep didn't snap hands off...

I think he'll go in 2 years if Barca don't pay us the money. We might be able to accept a cut rate if he's on the last year of his contract.

Until then we should take a page out of the dippers book and hold out for 140+ mil. If Barca really want someone, they will find the money.

They clearly have the money.. balancing the books is another matter and their problem entirely.

I understand what your saying but don't you think a cash deal would be far more beneficial?

We need a wide player and a quality one in my opinion, no way is Pep going to play Palmer as much as people are saying, and if Grealish does not kick on we are seriously short after losing Sterling and Jesus.

If Bernardo does go, we must replace him and that will take serious cash, he to me is our best and most influential player, and yes better than KDB for me.
Not really if Barca plan on paying in brass buttons

The perfect replacement for Bernardo in my opinion is Barella at inter. He’s a work horse but technically brilliant as well, one of the most underrated midfielders.

Swapping Bernie for Neymar would be exchanging everything our club is about for what theirs is, I’d be gutted, but he’s only irreplaceable in our hearts

Listening to that interview it's pretty obvious he's not signing an extension and is still open to a move.

I can't see us selling such an important player this close to the start of the season and I'm sure he will remain professional as he did last year when he was arguably our player of the season.

He still has three more years left on his deal so hopefully we can get at least one more year out of him, preferably two, and then we'll probably have to sell.

Until recently, I was never that fussed about any players we sold as it was only ever ones that weren't quite good enough for us. Sane was the first one I was really gutted about and losing Bernardo will be equally as gutting if not more.

He's going to be incredibly difficult to replace as it's extremely rare for such a technically gifted player to also be the hardest worker in the team.

I believe him when he says he loves the club and the fans but I'm not surprised that he wants to live in a warmer climate and somewhere that is more similar to his own culture. If you're from Portugal and youre a multi-millionaire who can afford to live anywhere you want, Barcelona is obviously going to be far more appealing than the north of England.

Some people will say moving to Barcelona is not a football decision as we're currently a better team but he has won four league titles and countless domestic trophies so I can't really blame him for making a lifestyle decision at this stage in his career. Plus it's not like he's moving to Getafe or something, it's still Barcelona. They finished 2nd in La Liga last season and are in the Champions League this season as I'm sure they will be the next.

We've had five great years with Bernardo and hopefully we'll get at least one more but unfortunately it does seem inevitable that he'll leave at some point within the next two years so I'm just going to appreciate him for as long as he's here now. If this is his last season with us, let's cap it off with that elusive Champions League.

One option is that we tweak the formation a bit and ensure Cucurella (provided we get him!) advances down the left, allowing Grealish infield a little and then KDB can get out to the right more often than he does currently.

When he joined he played on the right of the front 3 at first as far as i remember, it was Pep who moved him back.
