Might be wrong, but I don't think we'd let Bernie go even if Barca made a decent offer. We'd ask for a fee they couldn't pay, say 80m. Time is not enough to sign a quality replacement. Bernie won't be happy but we'll probably price him out of move this summer promising him to go next summer.

In short, worries are exaggerated, he'll stay for another season.

Another season is only pushing the problem back 12 months. He has not changed his mind in 2 years. Only he knows if that is possible. At this point it don’t look great. The security blanket of 12 months is not much tbf.

We wouldn’t be pricing him out of the deal. The cheeky fuckers should pay the fee that is acceptable. I’d put Bernie in the £85-100m category due to length of contract etc. To be fair he seems more settled now than he was last summer too.

We've been told 500,000 times already that he's not going.

He's still not going

That post game interview by Silva though to me seems he still has hopes of going this window or wouldn’t he just say am going nowhere I’ll be here to try and win more trophies this season, then next season he be off..

I think Bellingham could well come in with Gundogan and Bernardo leaving, but personally think Foden will be the real Bernardo replacement , they have a lot of the same qualities. Might need us needing a new winger though.
As much as I’d like Bernardo to stay I don’t think he’s any less replaceable than David Silva, Aguero, Fernandinho, Toure, Kompany were.
Im also convinced this is Bernies last year.
Ideal for next summer:

DM: Rodri, Phillips
AM: KDB, Foden, Bellingham, Mcatee
W: Mahrez, Grealish, Nkuku, Palmer
ST: Haaland, Alvarez

Nkuku £45m RC; Bellingham £100m
Bernie £60m

Tell you what tho. He is a decent person even if he leaves next season. 3 seasons wanting a move but still managing to play brilliantly and cause no fuss. He is one in a million.

Agree he has been a great pro like all our players think the majority of Man City fans are resigned to losing him next season

We'll try to keep him happy here and help him perform at his best. 12 months are enough to find a good replacement. We'll probably go for Bellingham and another midfielder next summer.

Bernie is fundamental to this team, would be risky to sell him this summer. The longer we keep him, the better for the team. He's not a problem. A problem would be to leave him go and rely on Kevin and Gundo next season, they both are on the wrong side of 30.

I agree with most of your points. With the new recruits I would expect us to be less reliant on him. We can and will continue to be successful with or without Bernardo.

Bernie is not going to be sold this season.
