Most underrated City player ever?

I know edited my post a bit,cos I didn't want it taken to be arsey.

We don't rate the French league nowadays, but he won it in 98,if I remember correctly, and the French won the w.c that year.
Brazil have won it loads and their league isn’t great…

I doubt most of us kept up to speed on the French league back then. It was hard to get to see any games.

I wasn’t trying to suggest he wasn’t a really good player.

Mahrez can’t believe some still don’t want him or wanted to keep Jesus or Sterling instead. Mahrez is absolutely brilliant

clichy very solid lb would love him now

barry just a quality player always seemed to be in right position

walker if not the very best he is easily one of the best rbs in the world imo

distin absolutely brilliant defender and very classy. Ahead of his time in many respects

Keiran Trippier by Manchini.

Even in pre-season games didn't ever seem to look at him, if memory serves me right.

Appeared to have more time for Greg Cunningham who played left back in same youth team.

I know there was a lot of competition for the right back position but Trippier should have been looked after better as a long term prospect. He was always extremely impressive in our strong youth team.

I’d say we probably overrate Ali B as we weren’t used to having anyone with that level of skill. He hadn’t done much in France before coming to us.

He was probably ahead of his time. He’d be an awesome 8 for Pep in his pomp.

Won the French league with Monaco, then moved to Bordeaux and won it with them, winning Ligue 1 player of the season also.

To say overrated is mad, though you're right about us not being used to seeing quality.

His biggest quality though, was that he lifted the performances of all around him, even though most of them were pretty mediocre. He made his teammates better players. Shame he was on his last legs when he arrived here.

Good shout. And I know for a fact that he liked the club more than some people realise.
He left because he was out of contract, we had no manager and no chairman. We were an utter shambles.
Even I would have left City that summer in similar circumstances
Meanwhile James fucked off to the same club for double money, under the guise of spurious family reasons, and got a hero’s welcome from the South stand while Distin got a load of shit. Never understood that
