Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

I hope Haaland and Alvarez are impressed with the atmosphere at the Etihad next season? After playing for Dortmund (the Yellow Wall) and River Plate (the whole stadium singing), I’m sure they will be impressed with the atmosphere at the Etihad this season. ;-)

To be fair, I'd imagine the first few games will be great. Bournemouth at home being a 3pm and Haalands home debut should be good. Not quite River Plate mind

If I'm being honest, the atmosphere in games against smaller teams tend to be very quiet/bad.

Even Kalvin Phillips has come from a set of fans where the whole stadium sing all game n’all.

May take them some time.

I thought our fans were brilliant yesterday. Seemed like we completely outnumbered them in the city centre before the game.

In the stadium I thought our fans were consistently louder and sang for longer than them (despite having less to sing about).

Their fans are good after they score or when the full time whistle goes. But throughout the game Liverpool fans are among the worst in the Prem.

Great post.
Agree with what you have written 100%.
I particularly enjoyed singing " You nearly won the league" on numerous occasions.
Along with the Slippy G song ,and the Edin Dzêko song as they are both about winning the league title when Liverpool were our competition.

I thought their end had louder chants with their whole half of the stadium seemingly joining in, but we sang more consistently for longer periods in the game but in fewer numbers.

All their end stood up all game, most of our end were sat down all game and many of those sat down didn’t contribute to the atmosphere.

He was also bring flippant about the National Anthem being disrespected by them.

I'm no royalist, sit down if I'm stood at Wembley while it's being done etc but there's a line which they cross which is never their fault.

Pockets of blues sang the anthem in response to them booing it. Like you I’m no royalist but I’d sing it to drown out their entitled boos.
