I've never heard grealish' name mentioned as much as in here just to support some spurious argument to over pay for a transfer. Not just over pay but pay DOUBLE what he's worth.

Grealish is a shirt seller, he's English, he's an important piece of the team. All the total opposite of what cucurella would be.

Glad it's over tbh, I do think it could have been another one where we show interest just to get another club to pay ott fees.

The banter on here, as you will have gathered from your Bluemoon apprenticeship, can be quite aggressive. But it is banter.

I occasionally post on two or three other forums. I speak my mind, but I’m extra careful. Still get pelters occasionally, when I make what is to me an innocent remark.
But then… some people can get offended about anything. Especially on the internet.
 
Pretty disappointing news. I'm fairly sure City will sign a LB but you never know with this club.

I know some people don't see missing out as that big a deal, but signing Haaland totally changes the dynamic of the team. I feel it will need a natural balance and width that wasn't quite so vital last season with the false 9 and how it was utilised.

Will hopefully be an interesting few weeks.
 
In the world of football, you have limited time to take advantage of securing the bag. He may of wanted us first, but if we walked away and a club like Chelsea offer you a lifetime of abundance and opportunity, you take it. Happy for him.
 
Be interesting to see how it develops but looks like a decent move for all parties. Bloom got his money, Cucurella his move to a Champs Lge club and Chelsea purchased a player who they think will improve their side.

For all those saying Chelsea have overpaid its exactly the argument made when we signed the likes of Walker, Sterling, De Bruyne. Many argued, at the time, they were over priced but if he helps Chelsea to success then he would prove a good buy.

I've never had a problem with people passing on info in good faith and it being wrong. But if you want to post cryptic clues, music videos and get everyone excited etc, personally there's more pressure to be right IMO. Think that's the stance of most so-called "anti-ITKs' on here- we don't mind if it's wrong, it's how the info is presented.

Great business on your part from a financial perspective. But the value of the deal will depend on what you pay and how good the replacement is.

He would have gone to rags, arse or spurs no doubt had they paid.
Pep wants players who want to play for him.
Perhaps Chelsea is a short train drive to Brighton beach though.

What I don't get in this is why we spent weeks talking to the player, his agent and Brighton if we weren't willing to pay close to what they wanted? Like me spending hours agreeing the colour of the Porsche and whether the car mats were included and then taking over when the dealer mentions the list price.

Is he worth £52.5m? No idea, I'll tell you in a couple of years, but what's the point of being so far away in valuation in a negotiation?
