I’ve never joined a political party but what’s to stop a load of Labour supporters joining the Conservatives to vote in the person they think Starmer could beat or make a farce of the voting? I know it’s too late to probably join now but maybe something for the future?

Impossible to achieve without a coordinated campaign.

The tory party establishment aren't that delusional that they would not realise the huge change in demographics, and they would most likely get wind of attempted sabotage from leaks within left-wing groups.

The tories are not a mass movement party, they are much better at gatekeeping than Labour. So they would just find a way to change the rules to neutralise such threats.
