Bernardo doesn't have a problem staying in Manchester any more - his new wife does, and as we know, happy wife, happy life. He wants to go to Barcelona, they want him. But they don't have the money to pay the amount we want for him. So the agent plants a story about a low, non-serious bid from PSG not accepted, player unhappy, in the hope we will accept a compromise from Barcelona rather than keep an unhappy player (and that bollocks about Guardiola saying he didn't want to sell Bernardo because it would make PSG CL contenders gives it away imo - pure PR bullshit). I expect Barcelona will be pushing a Bernardo / de Jong swap in the next week which, honestly, I would be fine with if the wages work out. If they can register Bernardo or not isn't our problem.

No coincidence this happens just as Soriano says it is finished.

Mate - with respect - it doesn’t sound anything like Bernardo would go to PSG.

We know where he wants to go - both his girlfriend and his Manager have told us this is the clearest language possible this very week - and it isn’t PSG.

The Castles article is pure Mendes bullshit trying to provoke City and Barca into action by using a Club he knows we’re both hostile to. It’s how Mendes operates, and I’m sure we’ve all seen it plenty of times before.

Hakimi would be great at City, and like I said - on paper I’d do that deal right now.

But PSG aren’t even in the conversation, and Frenkie’s wage situation (as you point out) likely means the whole thing is a non starter, unfortunately.
