Gas & Electricity

That's what Chamberlain said ;)
Haha

In all seriousness there are people on here who are suffering from anxiety reading all of this.

Something will get sorted, based on these prices the majority of the population won't be able to afford the bills and would cripple the economy.

I agree with you mate.

On this thread there are people preparing for the end of days, meanwhile on the holiday thread there are people worrying about how many quids they will get for their hols, and tomorrow a lot of us are going to watch millionaires play football and complain about the food/beer and the loud guy at the back ;)

Staying an extra 10 minutes after the game will shorten the time you’ll need to heat your home.

The political paralysis that this shithouse government have caused will not be forgotten as Boris has had his foreign holidays whilst Truss and Sunak are poncing around the country offering nothing to put peoples minds at ease. There is a simple solution, Ofgem and the government should just say fuck off the prices are not going up more than the rate of inflation

I completely agree mate, ridiculous how long they've drawn out this contest during a crisis.

It will get sorted.

Things aren't helped by our toxic media doom mongering.

To bail out all households and businesses for just 1 year will cost £200 billion. Obviously if crisis goes on for longer will cost a lot more....is the govt prepared to pay this money...even if they did we would have guaranteed blackouts this winter due to shortage of supply

No, what’s really wierd is, if you’re on 100k why you so bothered about fuel bills? - the topic of this thread, Oh, That's right! you're all about helping your fellow man - do me a favour, please!

Why the fuck aren’t you concerned about helping your fellow man, you literally said in a post yourself that society is too selfish nowadays!

I’m bothered personally as it’ll still have an impact on me (and already has) regardless of that salary, I’m not that bothered or selfish enough to think that it shouldn’t though.

I’ll repeat again, I want to see an increase in the higher rate and additional rate income tax threshold.

If the government don't intervene, I can't imagine any pub or restaurant will be able to afford to trade, and half of their customers wouldn't be able to afford to go out anyway. We're not heading for a recession we're heading for a 30s style depression unless the government has some serious plans to get us out of this. Even Truss should be able to see that a penny off tax or abandoning the NI rise isn't even going to touch the sides.
yep, this is my big worry, I think people are only thinking about their own situation at the momnet as they should, but once it dawns on them the impact on the rest of the people and businesses outside of their sphere it will be catastrophic.

Just ordered a few pairs of thermals and a hot water bottle..you just know it will be a bastard of a winter this year.
I am going all whim hoff , the ice man , embrace the cold , i already walk in the freezing mornings , it is brilliant

Seriously though , you have to put the heating on sometimes else your pipes will freeze in jan/ feb especially , low and short times, just enough to keep the system going
