Watched highlights prior to coming but watching tonight I never realised just how quick he is, both goals quality and a constant threat.

Promising so far and I’m sure he’ll get many more minutes and chances to impress this season.

Haaland is the man, the superstar and any attacker is going to play second fiddle to him but there’s something about Alvarez that is just more endearing.

Whilst watching the game tonight I thought of players of similar ilk (young, raw, promising, good CV) like Torres, Sane, Sterling and none of them were fans favourites and on the whole not many people were bothered when they left.

I think Alavrez will be different.

I'm excited to see how this lad gets on. Love his raw style.
I’ve watched Alvarez on you tube and some of his performances for River Plate have been outstanding. Watching him against Forest you can see just how intelligent he is, he started off in the first half playing just behind Haaland, and it looks like a tactic that will be successful, what a talent this young man js.

I think you’re right.

Of course all the world’s attention is on Haarland (rightfully so), but City fans have always loved players who give it everything in a game (Zabba springs to mind).

So even though he might get lost in the blinding light of our superstar, I’m certain Julian will very quickly become a fan favourite.

Going to give bernardo a run (literally) for his money in the distance stakes. Must have covered some ground. Superb player

Keep this form and we won't miss Jesus. Glad Pep is giving him enough minutes, even ahead of Mahrez.

i get navas vibes from him, a player who will work his socks off every time he gets a chance and is happy to contribute in whatever way he can

great finishes, the second goal is a really hard one to score, and with his left foot, also sent one into the post in the first half.

Love his ability to navigate in tight spaces, it will be useful against stronger teams
