Am I the only person who thinks that’s a bollocks rule? I get it if the defender plays it backwards, but if it gets a slight touch off the defender in a pass that otherwise goes where it’s intended, I don’t see why that should negate the offside.

It’s not interpreted in that way at the moment and never has been.

Surely that would work better than this long convulted process they currently have?

It's long and convoluted as they have to massage the angles and lines in order to get the favoured outcome.

I know what you mean. The other day someone in the VAR thread was arguing that it was very unlikely that VAR is used to attempt to manipulate match outcomes via marginal incidents. Couldn’t tell if they were just an innocent soul or pulling a clarkie.

I just do not rate him, he had one good season in Portugal and was playing in the lower tiers before that.

Even watching him you can see he's not a natural footballer. Has played 12 games for Uruguay and only scored twice as well.
