Just looked it up that George VI died 6th Feb 1952. City played Blackpool at home 9th Feb 1952 and I bet all the other fixtures went ahead as well.

I`m not arguing whether the games should or should not be called off.That decision was taken by the various Football Sporting Bodies and times have changed quite dramatically since 1952 so how you can use that as a tool is way beyond me.

It's 70 years so hopefully times have changed but I still don't understand why life can't carry on as normal.
