Called the long walk this bit , sure is !
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said 150 years ago, its motto is "by taste are ye saved".I’m not a very religious person, but the Church of England has a very distinct beauty which I haven’t seen in all my travels and research. I cannot put my finger on it. It seems almost “royal” in itself.
How tall is that guy in front of the hearse!
It's always happened, just not on TV (obviously). The Queen's Chamberlain has a wand which for the first time in history will be formally broken on TV, and buried with Her Majesty's body.
A wand. Who knew?
I used to live in Windsor and it is strange seeing the procession travel a route that I know very well.I’m finding this procession down the country lane just as moving, if not more so, than the procession through London. Very touching, a handful of people in extreme quiet.
Some go on football threads instead to talk about it.Look at all those pricks recording it on their phones. It’s a fucking funeral procession ffs. Do they whip their phones out every time they see a hearse drive past?
Worse than that some go to football matches and watch the game through them. Some go on football threads instead to talk about it.
That and showing Johnny Foreigner whose in charge after hammering 8 pints of stella in Benidorm.Im not a royalist by any stretch, but days like this make me proud to be british, very moving, certain things only we do to perfection, this being one of them
That's only a portion of it Kaz. The longer part is across the road that they drove down before turning iup toward the castle., it goes up to the statue of George the Third atop The Copper Horse. The sculptor said he would commit suicide if he made a mistake on the statue and unfortunately he forgot the stirrups for the horse and rumour has it that his ghost haunts the site to this day.Called the long walk this bit , sure is !
