The Conservative Party

looks like the infighting continues.............

I think there is a significant chance the tory party breaks over this. The wets are calling the shots, but they are pissing all over the loonies. And the membership are loonies. Bj could hold both camps together but I don't see who can now and how do they get to a new leader. Anyone who takes it on will get destroyed by the right wing press. So they are stuck with LT unless she resigns. And if she does who even puts their hand up?

Probably, but that doesn't explain how in 16 weeks the Conservatives have gone from dreaming of a third term, which with an 80-seat majority was realistic, to staring at electoral annihilation. Surreal. If you can do that damage to yourself, what can you do to the country?
Good plan.

Hunt makes it clear that the way out now is not spend spend spend, it’s cut cut cut again.

Fucking shambolic twats.

With inflation running rampant, they’ll probably not need to cut, cut, cut, just freeze, freeze, freeze, which might be in keeping if it is a bitter winter. On second thoughts, they’ll cut, cut, cut as well. A butcher’s slaughterhouse indeed.

Have the moderates in the Tory party appointed Hunt over the head of truss to effectively neuter the right-wing nut jobs and the ERG?
I don’t believe for one second that truss wanted hunt, but was forced to accept him under threat of ignominious removal from her job.
The moderates on the back benches and I suspect the grandees and the 1922 committee have called the right’s bluff here and said ’you‘ve got your puppet in place at the top, but we have removed her power to act’, resulting in a paralysis of power.
What a way to run a party, never mind a country.

The only question I have with that is what moderates? They were all kicked out by Johnson.

Tory Ministers in full gaslight mode all over the media this morning.

The mantra seems to be ignore the shitshow and say "It's what we do before the next election that matters"
