Ref Watch

The video that VAR gave him was ridiculous, super slow mo without showing Fabinho going in first.

Letting everything go was benefiting the Dippers until the one moment it didn’t & then it’s re-refereed.
Yep, I've never played professional football, but I imagine that you get used to what a referee will allow and play your game accordingly. If that works any time except in the build up to a goal, then you have a problem.

Fair comment but VAR isn't allowed to check for that afaik, our goal should've stood considering what was let go all afternoon
I know mate, I just feel like we didn't get robbed today like last season there which was simply criminal, it was more to do with our crap performance.

He had a clear view of the challenge and dismissaly waved the player to get up. It was literally re-refereeing the game. I like Taylor. I think he’s a very good referee. But I think he was wrong to rule that out.

It is when the goal happened right after the goal kick and Liverpool didn't touch the ball again, if it's a corner that sequence never happens.
But this is the whole problem in the first place. How far previously can the incorrect decision be before people will accept that it probably shouldn't affect the goal? I'm sure you could find a 'foul' before Salah's strike that if given would have meant he wouldn't have been in a position to shoot. Or maybe we should just accept the referee's decisions unless it's egregiously wrong, when they have very clearly seen the incident.

Yep, play on all game, but when there's a goal, the forensic microscope comes out and looks for any excuse to chalk it off. And that's not a criticism of this game in particular, that's a problem with VAR in general.
If we'd have scored in the first 10 mins it would be pulled back for a push in the charity(community) shield

Bit of both for me. Still win the lot though so not as bothered as in previous seasons.
I'm more pissed off than worried, we never get anything there anyway, and Pep had one of those days where he changes the system when it was working just fine, it hasn't stopped us from the dominating the league, but it's always a problem in the CL.

You're probably right, I was playing devil's advocate.

Do we know why Foden went down holding his face first half??

Never seen a single replay.
