If you think he is publicly going to call out Jack Grealish or for that matter any player in public you must be crazy.

Pep literally less than a month ago explaining what Mahrez needs to do to play -

"“He has to come back in a better physical condition"

“Train good, every day, day in, day out. Be fit in all his ways with the body fat and everything. After, he will be back.”

Stats?

What about eyes? Not said anything about Wednesday in criticism, he was ok.

Stats are meaningless crap, performance is all that matters and for an attacking player in one of the finest teams ever created he simply does not produce anywhere near enough goals or assists.

And I keep hearing pep is happy with him, does he tell you? If you think he is publicly going to call out Jack Grealish or for that matter any player in public you must be crazy. But withdrawing a player at half time is hardly the sign of a player doing well is it?
That's like waiting for Klopp to call Nunyears out. Never going to happen.

He's publicly called out loads of City players in the past for all sorts of things. Hart, Nasri, Mahrez, Aguero, De Bruyne, a few others, the list really is longer than you think. He's not afraid to call players out and yet he hasn't ever complained about Grealish to the press. Wonder why?
Because Jack has outstanding stats, performances and is the star of the show, that's why ;) FFS

Mahrez signed his contract and his desire dropped down a notch or three, a warning shot over the bows is what Pep did.

Pep called and pushed Raheem Sterling on numerous occasions but probably pushed him far too much, he called out Sane, rightly so for wasting a huge natural talent and believing he hade made it before he actually had.

I get the feeling despite the public persona, Jack Grealish is maybe not the cocky, arrogant prick a lot of people think he is, in fact he seems a decent, likable but perhaps slightly unsure about himself and has a manager trying to protect him and his huge ridiculous transfer fee, again rightly so.

But as said far too many times, it's simply time to jack to produce quality, week in week out, with assists and goals and like I said earlier, Jack Grealish's form improved considerably earlier in the season but what did Pep do, drop him, and I find that strange and worrying.

Not interested in whatever mental gymnastics you're doing to pretend Pep doesn't criticise players after several people have provided examples of him doing just that.

Neither have you and far more importantly to me, neither has Jack Grealish.
Except I have answered your question. You said Pep wouldn't call out Jack in public; I argued he would call out Jack in public if he felt the need because he's done it to many other City players down the years. As of yet, Pep hasn't seen the need so I'm taking that to mean he's pleased with where Grealish is. Could he be doing better? Yeah. Is he doing alright? Absolutely.

Jack Grealish doesn't have to answer your questions though, he only has to answer to Pep Guardiola, and it seems Pep is happy with the answers. The odd part is you pretenting he doesn't and Pep agrees with you that's your problem nobody elses.

Dropping a player when showing signs of very good form I do find weird in any manager but Pep clearly has his reasons and he has done that with numerous players and may I say far better players than Jack Grealish.

About five forum members refuse to acknowledge any positive contribution made by a specific player. The same happened in the Rodri thread, from a now silent group. The same happened in the Gundo thread, the Raz thread, the Mahrez thread...If we had a Boo Bowyer thread back then, we would have had the same.
It seems to be a peculiar quirk of our fanbase, and it taints us.

We will see the benefits later in he season, especially with most of our squad expected to deep into a world cup, why after years of Pep you still use the word drop is where you are going wrong.

I genuinely hope your correct, would love to see Jack have a great WC and them come back and become a huge part of the team here, but whatever he has to produce far more for club and country.

you start the post saying grealish played as good as everyone else in the first half (let’s face it everyone was poor first half).

You then end the post by saying we play better with him despite us turning around the 1 0 deficit with a much improved second half performance after he was taken off.

I’m not naive enough to suggest the sole reason we won was because we took grealish off but equally I don’t see how you can suggest we play better with him in the side.

You say he is a top player which he has proven. Well what constitutes a top player in your mind? Because to me he has yet to prove anything at city.

You also seem extremely critical of mahrez who to me has produced much more throughout his career whilst also offering the same qualities grealish posses (good ball retention, good dribbling etc). Grealish is basically mahrez without the goals and assists.

When we win with him in the team I don’t ever feel we won because of grealish it’s more in spite of him. He came off the back of a huge transfer fee and fanfare from the euros. I watched him a lot for villa and I was never blown away by his performances and the grealish we have now at city is very similar to the one I saw then.

I see posters bemoan the fact he plays lw (despite the fact he plays there for England and mainly did for villa albeit with a slightly different role), I see posters blame pep for taking away his creativity, no overlapping winger…. the excuses go on and on.

Grealish is a good player but to make a career at city that isn’t enough, he isn’t brilliant at anything imo he doesn’t posses elite pace, his shooting is erratic, passing is safe and his dribbling (his strongest attribute) is miles below that of Bernardo (a genuine world class player).

The fanboys such as yourself are going to have to accept that grealish will attract criticism from city fans. A player who cost 100 mil and is not producing game winning performances imo frustration from fans is justified. Deep down you know you expected more from him here, he just hasn’t lived up to the hype.

Grealish is a nice squad player to have but for the price we paid we all expected a nailed on starter. Think it’s fair to say grealish doesn’t even get into our best starting eleven and judging by the team picked at anfield I think it’s obvious pep agrees.
Playing better in that second half had nothing to do with Grealish being taken off......in fact id argue had he stayed on,and the same tactical changes been made, the ones that should not have been messed with to start with, then we may even have performed better.

From what i have seen of a 'best 11' he very much does get in alongside Foden and Haaland up front,as,choosing the road you have taken......the piss poor performance at Anfield also supports.

Again, the 100m is brought up? why? it matters not....well maybe to those who wish to try their best to find the grams of ammunition to criticise the club......but as a Blue, its irrelevant, just forget about it,you'll feel much better.

Fanboys, haha, fuck off ya disrespectful bellend.I'm a City fan.....thats where it starts and ends.

I rate the lad because i know what he's capable of,as i genuinely did watch his game changing performances at Villa, clearly unlike yourself despite your claim.
