Fulham (H) | PL | Post-Match

Grealish is rarely bad but he's not pulling up trees and that's what people are expecting. TBH, I wish he could just be quietly left to go about his business: there's too much spotlight on him individually (as there is players in general) when the collective outcome is most important. It's the world we live in though.
Hes totally doing his job in ball carrying and gaining those 20 yards and laying it off , he is very good at assisting the assister.

BUT!!! …. But there was 2 opportunities yesterday where he cut in and it slightly opened up for the shot, but he laid again. Thats where i want him stepping up.

Confidence

Now own up. Was anyone else thinking perfidiously, when Erling stepped up, “If he misses this, will he still be everybody's darling on here?” I actually thought KDB would take it. The foul was on him, and I just felt a bit more confident with him taking it. Was half-expecting the Viking freak to mess it up, if I'm honest. Which he nearly did. Wouldn't change a thing in my own evaluation of him, of course: a freak of nature.

Totally agree.

Yesterday I cannot remember a player having so much of the ball in the first half with nothing to show for it.
He has to improve massively even if he was a 50 million pound player.

I might have, if I'd any idea what it meant

What ever happened to the new ‘Rashford’ ruling on offside. If it’s so close, “the benefit of doubt is given to the attacker”. Was it only trialled for that one game? Great performance from City, KDB fantastic, as was Stones, Gundogan & Bernardo.

Glad you raised this point, I mentioned it at the match yesterday but no one could recall it. Thought I’d imagined it.

If you recall, Rashford was offside by the naked eye v Liverpool; they stated that “last season he would have been offside, but this season for close calls, the benefit is given to the attacker”… so Rashford’s goal stood. Not happened in any other game to my knowledge

Shoving a player in the back isn’t trying to get the ball.

If he’d dived in and just missed the ball and taken Wilson out, he’d have got a yellow card.

As it was, he didn’t move his feet to attempt to get the ball, fouled Wilson and got sent off for it.

It‘s a textbook example of a DOGSO penalty and red card.

That isn't what happened though is it. For a start there was no shove. And he ran from the side not the back. It was a footrace to a loose ball, he lost and crashed into him.

If it had been given against us as a penalty without a red, I would have understood it. I can see how it was given as well, how it looked at pace. Certainly wasn't a textbook example.

It’s exactly what happened.

Blatant penalty and red card.

There isn’t much else to say about it.

Nobody has complained about it. It’s a stonewaller

No complaints about the red card or penalty against us , very few if any complaints from the Fulham players about our penalty which confirms it was the correct decision. Refs really need to clamp down on keepers wasting time constantly.

Weird how the goalkeepers wasting time has creeped into the game.

I would like an explanation from Old Mother Riley as to how a player can receive a booking for off-pitch dead-ball removal of shirt and no card for the most blatant time wasting by a goalkeeper since the last keeper turned up at The Etihad. Refs are ripping a pocket off to get the card out and all they do for timewasting is stand looking and impersonating Pontius Pilate.
Could be the first time these two names have been mentioned in a BlueMoon post and certainly both together. :-)

There was a clear shoulder in the back, no effort to play the ball, clear penalty and clear decision to send him off for DOGSO. It was a text book example pure and simple

We were down for the game yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the outcome, the atmosphere near the end in the ground was superb and after the match, tremendous. What a noise at the end.
We were labouring a bit until Pep made the changes, the crowd got a lift when Foden and Haaland came on.
Much as I like Grealish, he was not great yesterday.
As far as I'm concerned, if I never see Cancelo in a City shirt again I won't be disappointed...I know that won't go down well on here. Cost us at Liverpool a few weeks ago and nearly cost us yesterday...any professional footballer getting themselves sent off within 25 minutes for that is a chump of the highest order (likewise Gomez at Copenhagen)....let the guy shoot, if he scores it's 1-1 and 11v11...don't push the twat over because its then 1-1 and 10v11....imbecile. Great (sometimes) going forward but a feckin liability at the back (see also R Madrid away CL 2nd leg hoofing an aimless cross into Courtois' hands in the 89th minute & shit show at home to Spurs)....just my opinion...
KDB looking absolutely out on his feet last 15 minutes but still got up and dragged us through that, playing for the team unlike Cancelo who plays for his own post-career YT showreel. What an example KDB was yesterday, chased everything in the last 15 minutes and got us the penalty.
Back 3/4 in the 2nd half did extremely well to keep them out and worked their socks off too, they had a few decent breaks but we stayed firm and full credit to them all.
