Fulham (H) | PL | Post-Match

Unfortunately its a red all day by the way the law is commonly interpreted. I'd agree with you that he made a genuine attempt to win the ball, however he didn't make any attempt to play the ball.

He was trying to win it with his body and then he would play the ball after winning it. So it wasn't any kind of attempt to play the ball. Not sure what the exact wording of the law is, but that's the way it seems to be reffed generally.

Guessing it's just a one game ban? Anyone know what game he'll miss?
Midweek against Chelsea.

The Worst official EVER today ? And anybody that says the game is not bent, or it's not cheating ? Need to watch the first half, VAR team are the worst ? You think Liverpool or united playing at home get treated like Manchester city,

the officials took the game out of Manchester city hands and made us go all the way ? NEVER a pen or sending off
city had to play for 70 minutes with 10 men and worked so hard to get the 3 points, that should have been a walk in the park easy home win 6 or 7 goals, but the officials did what the Premier League boss wants and made us go all the way,

I really hope one day somebody at Manchester city call them out for what they are
Hahahaha, we were given one of the softest penalties you'll ever see in the 94th minute to win the game. If it's bent against us the FA are doing a fucking good job of hiding it. And if it is bent, why do you bother watching?

I have to agree, that was a very easy penalty not to award, and var would not have over turned that decision.

Crap at being bent, as well as reffing.

It’s not bent for me, it’s just incompetent and inconsistent. Personally I think all our games should be reffed and VAR’d by officials from Europe and we should send all our shit ones over there. If they were truly bent he wouldn’t have given the pen and VAR would probably have said your call.

I have to agree. He's a limited player. That doesn't mean he's a bad player because he isn't. He was perfect for Villa and yesterday he would have been perfect for Fulham. Like he did for Villa he would have carried the ball and ran at us, getting them up the pitch and causing us problems. It wouldn't matter if he lost the ball occasionally as they'd factor for him doing that but the reward would outweigh the risk as they were playing defensively anyway. It's totally different playing for us and as a result of that it's highly debatable that it's ever going to work for him here.
Wow, thats a light bulb moment right there. I have a feeling you maybe right. He's undoubtedly a very good player and he's the type of player that when he gets on the ball you expect something great is going to happen but it often turns out to be just a safe pass in the end. Would love him to play a killer pass once in a while or curl a sweet shot into the corner.

We bought him obviously as he was a very good player and must have thought he'd fit in, or Pep could take him to an even higher level. For whatever reason so far it hasn't really worked out. I'm not sure what Pep wants him to do, but coming inside and passing back isn't what I envisaged, nor I bet any other fan. I envisaged him beating his man and causing havoc and creating chances. We'll see where it ends up.

Mate, I once had someone on here tell me that when we got soft penalties that win games it's because the league doesn't want to make it too obvious that they're against us. Blue Anon will Blue Anon.

If you recall, Rashford was offside by the naked eye v Liverpool; they stated that “last season he would have been offside, but this season for close calls, the benefit is given to the attacker”… so Rashford’s goal stood. Not happened in any other game to my knowledge
It will happen again. And you know which team will benefit

My only issue with Cancelo’s sending off is that we see these shoulder barges as part of the game this season and the majority aren’t given. What is the difference with what Martinez or TAA did today, with Martinez’ having 3 attempts at elbowing the player as well.

Prior to this season I could accept that as a penalty and sending off, this season I’m not so sure. God knows how the players see it, even Pep was lost with that call, and showed it.

Watching a pretty damn similar foul by arnold not penalised by the very same darren dipper England, fucking stinks!

Anyway the boys had to dig deep against a pathetically defensive Fulham who had no ambition whatsoever. The officiating kept them in the game with their cynical fouls, diving and time wasting.

First half I thought we played some great stuff and very proud of Alvarez finish. Soon as Cancello got his marching orders it got tougher. Bernie is tigerish and Gundo showed his passing. Stones played well and the defence got better.

Of course the thermostat was turned up to maximum by Kev. He grabbed the second half and was everywhere. The forwards who came on were opposites, Erling daring the cottagers to match him, Phil not convincing for me. Jack started off well but became a peripheral figure. Didn't think Nat had his best game either.

It was a penalty and yeah Kev probably exaggerated contact but we've seen the number of stonewalls we've not been given so fuck em. Could prove a pivotal 3 points CTID.

Sigurdsson correct.
Aubameyang Arsenal we won 3 nil at Emirates March 2018
Milivojevic Palace 0-0 new years eve 2017
Cheers. I was at that game at the Emirates and still forgot Eddie's penalty save!! Was that the match a few days after we tonked them at Wembley in the League Cup? If so it was an absolutely perishing cold night and blowing a right fucking gale. An Arsenal ST holder texted me at half-time and said he didn't go as he knew we'd hammer them again.

It was a definite penalty for me. TAA was softer and I’m not sure on that one and he wasn’t through on goal or anything either. I thought Cancelo’s challenge was just stupid to be honest. Didn’t see the rag one.

I think we bought him thinking he wouldn't run down blind alleys and lose the ball on a regular basis as Sterling and Jesus occasionally did.
I think Grealish is a lot better than we're seeing, but he could be playing to instructions.

Kev threw himself to the floor after being fouled. Fuck all wrong with that, just ensuring the referee made a decision as you know he would’ve just waived it away if he’d stayed up.

Ref was a turd all game, Kev left him no choice.

Definitely think he is, as Foden did the same when he came on. Pep’s game is all about tiring them out and taking the chances when they come, the moments.

We were down for the game yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the outcome, the atmosphere near the end in the ground was superb and after the match, tremendous. What a noise at the end.
We were labouring a bit until Pep made the changes, the crowd got a lift when Foden and Haaland came on.
Much as I like Grealish, he was not great yesterday.
As far as I'm concerned, if I never see Cancelo in a City shirt again I won't be disappointed...I know that won't go down well on here. Cost us at Liverpool a few weeks ago and nearly cost us yesterday...any professional footballer getting themselves sent off within 25 minutes for that is a chump of the highest order (likewise Gomez at Copenhagen)....let the guy shoot, if he scores it's 1-1 and 11v11...don't push the twat over because its then 1-1 and 10v11....imbecile. Great (sometimes) going forward but a feckin liability at the back (see also R Madrid away CL 2nd leg hoofing an aimless cross into Courtois' hands in the 89th minute & shit show at home to Spurs)....just my opinion...
KDB looking absolutely out on his feet last 15 minutes but still got up and dragged us through that, playing for the team unlike Cancelo who plays for his own post-career YT showreel. What an example KDB was yesterday, chased everything in the last 15 minutes and got us the penalty.
Back 3/4 in the 2nd half did extremely well to keep them out and worked their socks off too, they had a few decent breaks but we stayed firm and full credit to them all.
Couldn’t disagree with you more on your Cancelo take.
