Really, Palmer was superb 2nd half.

He absolutely wasn’t “superb” mate.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he did anything particularly wrong or had a shocker or anything.

I just feel he doesn’t quite know what his role is and I think he switches off and drifts in and out of the game too much.

Pep doesn’t really do drifty players. He wants players to be fully connected to the game and each other and to know exactly where to be and when to move and when. That “being present” thing he demands is his players.

I feel the lad has been a bit short on that side of things since his introduction.

No doubt it’ll come. I mean look at Mahrez, it took him about 12 seasons to finally get his head round it.

He defo got caught 3/4 times trying to win the ball and the young Chelsea lad just cut inside him and broke forward. Good learning experience for him but shows why it’s not so easy to just throw these kids in.

Grealish was excellent, Ortega shits all over the likes of Steffen, Cabellero and Bravo and Lewis had another very assured game.

Not really seeing much from Palmer though. In his recent games he’s looked like he doesn’t quite understand what his role is? And I feel he switches off a fair bit, but early days for the young man.

Palmer reminds of Ozil a bit. One has to remember that he is returning from a long injury lay off and is still 20. The talent and potential is there, its upto him to make it big here as he does have Pep's support.

I know people have commented on the amount of chances we conceded but you have to factor in Chelsea finished with a very strong side and we left a lot of players out.

Conceded a lot of chances. Made far more imho.
