Yep that’s what we do, upstairs is a lot colder and my daughter spends a lot of time up there so we stick it on fir an hour.What is the figure that we think is needed? I personally think 16 is the time to put it on . I will set it to 20 then turn it off when the kids go to bed . If I had no kids I would go to the boozer and come home with a curry and not need any heating.
I'd keep it well ventilated to be honest.Butane should be ok
