I genuinely don't know. As far as I can see, Qatar looks an incredible place who have used their own natural resources to build incredible infrastructure in the desert?

Dunno why people are moaning about no beer in stadiums given we couldn't get any in chumps league games for years.

When did it start that you could get a pint during a match at Maine Road? I don't recall any big focus on alcohol when I first started going in 1970. (Ok, I was only 12!)

This "sports washing" doesn't seem to be working. I've just turned on the BBC coverage and heard nothing but criticism of the Qatar regime. Indeed, the media coverage over the last couple of days had been mostly negative.

"Sports washing" achieves the opposite of what it allegedly purports to achieve. It's a bizarre, irrational concept invented by some bitter journalists with an agenda.
