Cracking goal but in general he was shite again. Pep is probably getting loads of shit for not making subs but the one he made was supposed to give us width. Once again Foden just refused to attack and played sideways. Would have been better leaving Cancelo cutting inside but attacking.

Needs to have a big impact from the bench then as Sterling and Saka will be starting outside Kane. Be a miracle if Mr negative trusts him as a number 10 and even on England form he doesn’t deserve a wide birth.

Maybe he’s just thinking about his next tattoo.

He won't even start in the world cup so the fact he's fannied out of everything for 6 weeks is even more annoying.

He's stalled. Needs to start winning games to take the next step, otherwise he'll end up a coulda been

Agree very disappointing on the whole this season.

Watching from the South Stand, Phil looked poor all the through the first half. His strike was absolutely brilliant and I thought he might come out in the second half and grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Alas, he was just as poor in the second half.

I’m a huge fan of Phil but definitely feel like he was one of those holding back yesterday. Took his goal well but spent a lot of the game hiding and not getting involved. So many times he had the chance to take a man on or put a ball in but he’d pass it to the closest player to put it in instead.

I didn’t think he was that bad. Shirked a few tackles but he scored a cracker and had a couple of shots saved. No help whatsoever from the utterly useless Cancelo yesterday.

Wouldn’t blame Cancelo for Foden refusing to ever take someone on these days when one on one

It’s clear they are simply not instructed to take people on. Foden doesn’t, Grealish doesn’t, Bernando didn’t, Mahrez doesn’t.

Saying that, It no wonder with our shit defence and sluggish midfield . Pep clearly doesn’t want them taking the risk. We are so vulnerable when we lose the ball. Their second goal was a joke.

As the above comment says it's most likely Phil just choosing to pass, instead of skipping past players like we know he can, is an instruction from Pep.

Reduces him more to a functional player than a skillful one.

That’s because of peps tactics. Our wingers have been told not to take players on and keep it simple. Foden or grealish can easily beat a few players.

It feels almost like foden is being held back and not allowed to show his true talent. The psg game in particular in breezed past most of those midfield with ease

Bernardo must be breaking the rules when running at his full back then.

I thought that and it’s a bit strange if Foden isn’t allowed to dribble when near the opposition box in case he loses the ball but KDB can give the ball away pretty much anywhere.

Thought his cameo yesterday was good barring a bad pass to Wilson. He's so, so good at receiving the ball on the half-turn. Would absolutely love to see a Foden-Bellingham-Phillips midfield next season if Bernardo and Gundo are indeed leaving.
