Thought his cameo yesterday was good barring a bad pass to Wilson. He's so, so good at receiving the ball on the half-turn. Would absolutely love to see a Foden-Bellingham-Phillips midfield next season if Bernardo and Gundo are indeed leaving.

I agree. I just hope after the world cup this can give Phil that extra motivation to really kick on and improve on those certain aspects of his game that pep requires of him to play midfield regularly.

He should play in the middle like David Silva but he’s so young and fast he can play across all the midfield roles. He’s our best player for England and yet Southgate starts Mount and Sterling ahead of him. You’d think if your life depended on it he’d still pick Kane Maguire Sterling.

Phil must be biting his lip in training , when you see a donkey like Henderson get on the pitch before you then you know the manager simply doesnt rate you , he should see out the tournament and if hes doesnt get some starts , tell Waistcoat he doesnt want to be involved in anymore England squads while he is the manager , he would rather go fishing.
