Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

@LEXSTARproject What do you read from this?
CMC have got what they want from the partnership and are moving on? Or Mansour & Silverlake want to go in a different direction to CMC?
@Stockton Heath Blue that the CFG are no longer buying a team in China, that Silverlake will be heavily involved with New York City FC and the new stadium and surrounding area. You never hear of the Chinese Super League anymore, Maybe more sponsors of CITY from firms that Silverlake are involved in

There was capping work done a good few years back
The remediation story is fiction.

The majority of in fill was surplus wire trolleys and baskets from Asda, the leftover tyres from that rags garage, compacted with two weeks of refuse from Grey Mare Lane market.

The engineers were meticulous in ensuring the contents were fully compacted by leaving the crater open to the east Manchester weather for several days.

I hope that eases any unnecessary concerns, happy to help as always !!

Did you mention the rest of the stadium will get a new external shell? Wonder if that would be part of the upcoming project.

It's time to get excited! :-)

Taken numerous pictures.

I've wrote everything down. (thank you to the security guard inside the City store for lending me his pen)

I've measured the distances between the soil testing rigs with my shoes. ;-) Lol!

I'll try and get the info posted today at some point. Maybe some of the pictures as well? (been in work since 4am and straight to the Etihad) If I don't post all the pictures today, I'll definitely post them all tomorrow morning.

Chinese Gov have been suggesting withdrawing from Football as an investment for a few years now, part of the refocus of general investment following the failure of some banks and big property companies. Even Chinese individuals/businesses have had it "suggested" they pull the money back into less frivolous investments, AC Milan on the market again

10.5. I'll work it out tomorrow. :-)

Think there are 1 or 2 oversights tarmacked or not, as I was knackered.

Looking from Joe Mercer Way/the Mosaic, anti-clockwise around the souvenir store.

1. Next to and to the right of the Joe Mercer Mosaic- fenced off area - long slender hole tarmacked
2. Opposite the Metrolink queuing rails - fenced off area - ground not tested yet.
3. In-between the Blue Moon Bar and the store - fenced off area - *P36 soil rig onsite*.
4. Under the Blue Moon bar canopy - fenced off area - long slender hole tarmacked - sprayed markings in different colours.
5. In-front of the City Square stage - fenced off area - ground tested.
6. Left of City square - fenced off area - ground tested.
7. Between the end of the Mike Summerbee Bar and the souvenir store - fenced off area - ground not tested yet.
8. Side of the souvenir store - fenced off area - ground not tested yet.
9. Front of Mike Summerbee Bar - fenced off area - ground tested.
10. Side of Mike Summerbee Bar - fenced off area - ground not tested yet.
11. In-front of the back of the store - fenced off area - ground not tested yet.

Etihad - possible North Stand expansion?

12. Between the Etihad and City Square, to the right of City Square - *soil testing rig onsite* - no visible make or markings on the rig - different from the other 3 rigs.
13. In-front of entrance Z1 - fenced off area - *P34 soil rig onsite.
14. In-front of entrance A2 - fenced off area - *P35* soil rig onsite.

15. Holding area - Geotechnical Ground Investigation Services - 3 vans + 1 truck (open/flat back) - https://geoeng.co.uk/

More cladding and insulation panels have gone on.

Have I missed something? Why are they testing the soil?
