Only the English media crown players because they actually do anything.

The 'English tax' s real & the hype around Bellingham excessive. I promise there is some 15 year old kid in La Masia or some 14-year-old kid walking barefoot in Rio, who in a few years will be better than Bellingham.

fee is imortant. Just look at Grealish, he will never shake the criticism because he plays like nothing like a player worthy of being the most expenive player in British football history. Be honest, relative to the player whose record he took - (Gareth Bale), he is not that level.

Bellingham will carry so much burden. Therfore, whoever signs him for 130m+ could be squirming in a few years. were not talking the heir to Zidane are we? Or are we, and the English media that far gone?

The issue with huge fees paid for players is that certain fans then make big issues over their performances.

If managers are prepared to pay huge fees, it is because they believe that it is worth it in order to secure a player who possesses the right talent and abilities to suit/improve/add a different dynamic to the team.

Fans forums and the media, are places where the player has to be
" special " in order to justify the transfer fee.

I seriously doubt that Pep ( if he so decides ) to sign Bellingham, will be doing it in order to please this forum.

That's part of the reason but it's also true it very much gets to the player.

If a player does not perform to a high level that fee starts to get into their heads and that's when the problems start.
