Why are people upset he chose his family over a game played for entertainment? Why are people talking about how he should behave regarding his own partner and children? He does not owe any of you an explanation and could decide not to play if he does not want to play.
Manage your lives and your relationships however you want to. That is what annoys me about this new entitled society where strangers think they have some right to judge people simply because they watch them on TV or see them on social media.
If he stayed next time they lose a game you would have another reason to moan at him. So this has nothing to do with his actions but all your hatred and bitterness.
Most of you were even saying he shouldn’t be in the team before all this so I see through the fake outrage.
LOL whatever. He just left the biggest event in his career to take care of his family.

Isn’t you post completely the opposite to his actions in this ?He leaves me with the same feeling tbh. I think its why he's a bit disliked, with Sterling its always about Sterlings career. No emotional attachment to anything, just cold hard careerism, I'm not even sure he enjoys his football that much. Though I do think he'll look back on his career and cherish the time at City.
Honest assessment, I'm not a hater or joining in with any pile on against him. He's entitled to his success because hes damn well made it happen. Just leaves people a little cold.
Beat me to it.He just left the biggest event in his career to take care of his family.

This is sterling so scoring in the final probably never crossed his mind:-)You or me kicking a ball around a park on a Sunday is just a game of football.. scoring a winning goal in a World Cup final and lifting yourself to a state of legend is a bit more then a game of football.
I suppose it’s those that achieve greatness are the ones who make the biggest sacrifices
I imagine the outrage would have been similar if he hadn’t gone home tbh. This is sterling so scoring in the final probably never crossed his mind:-)
If his family weren't at home then I think going back isn't really something everyone would do. The choice is his though and only he and his family now how unnerving it was.
Don’t be ridiculous, it was a devastating event that led to a loss of life of a truly decent bloke. You stabbed him to death, on the 2nd and botched robbery ?
You did well to carry on regardless, fair play.
Every fucker is outraged about summat. Being burgled ain't nice I have been through it as a kid and we were all in the house. Luckily it was the one night my dad had a drink which was fortunate as a large kitchen knife went missing with a lot of our stuff.I imagine the outrage would have been similar if he hadn’t gone home tbh.
How many titles has Sterling won?Lost his place at City....left.
Lost his place with England....left.
Unavailable for 2 trophy parades in consecutive seasons.
Seems to have a lot going on in his life. No wonder he can't concentrate and score 1 on 1s
Chelsea fans are certainly not impressed with him.
Oh come on, it isn't horrendous. I've been burgled, like Raz no one was at home. Yeh it's a bummer but hardly horrendous.Putting aside what are people's views of him as a footballer. On a human level, what he and his family have been subjected to is horrendous ( whether the family were home or not), and will have lasting effects and I wish them all well, and hope they can all get over this gross invasion of privacy quickly, I know many don't.
The actions he took immediately, putting his family first against anything was spot on, and whether he plays again this tournament should not concern us
Good for you. Sadly for others it is life changing.Oh come on, it isn't horrendous. I've been burgled, like Raz no one was at home. Yeh it's a bummer but hardly horrendous.
Spot on, most people are victims of crime at some stage of their life. I think someone financially scammed would be way more affected than a wealthy footballer who has been house burgled.Oh come on, it isn't horrendous. I've been burgled, like Raz no one was at home. Fact of life is that we are all different. You, your mate and others might not think it a biggy, but it is to othersSpot on, most people are victims of crime at some stage of their life. My mate rang me a few years ago to ask if I could pick him up for golf as he’d been burgled, they’d stolen cash, his TV and his car, he was pretty much matter of fact about it. I went to his house, he wasn’t quite ready so I sat on his settee waiting for him, a couple of minutes later, big shout, “Bastards”, I said what’s up pal, he said “the twats have nicked my cans of Stella”. Just a sense or perspective without the drama.
I agree we’re all different and it can affect people. When I was a kid house breaking was relatively unusual, you’ve probably heard people say “you could leave your front door open and no one would break in”. The reason why, there was nothing all to nick in those days from working class houses.Fact of life is that we are all different.
