Him and Walker back in the fold will be a big plus, games in January will be coming thick and fast. Hopefully the recuperation from injuries whilst away in the sun in Qatar will set them up for the football that needs to be played till June.

I feel for the lad but the wisdom of signing him should be questioned. We undoubtedly needed another body in midfield but maybe should have had some faith in Lavia.

We don’t know the ins and outs of it all but not being available for us for months, going to the WC and then coming back “not fit” is not a good look. I had hoped that England would actually get him fit for us and that clearly hasn’t happened. The lad has a lot to prove and he needs to get his head down and sort himself out. He’s not Billy-big-bollocks at a side fighting relegation anymore. He is at one of the best sides in the world and half-arsing it here will not do.
