Loved his comment in the post match interview - journalist was asking what was the reason for the recent good form and John basically said I’ve been playing like this for 2-3 years.

How’s it not true. Other then injuries he’s been brilliant for a few years. He’s stopped making errors and is consistently one of our best defenders

Chelsea away proved he can be immaculate when the system is weird and his teammates are off it.

Really missed him tonight, I think. Certainly wouldn't have solved all our problems but some stability and consistency at the back, not to mention some reliable incisive passing, would have been much appreciated.

wonder if it has anything to do with his missus being pregnant because pep was very vague in his presser - could be protecting his privacy.
