They need to be more definitative on what qualifies as interference......as at present it seems to be that if a player doesnt touch the ball he isnt interfeering.....as we saw with this decision a player can clearly interfere without touching the ball....It's doesn't need to happen now. The laws are quite clear that this was offside by interference. Nothing needs to change, other than Cann and Attwell need to be called out on their mistake, and Oliver for letting it to go unchallenged.
For me we should go back to the old rules of offside if you are an attacking player in the attacking half.....a player could be 30 yds away from the ball and still be distracting the opposite fullback when a cross is coming in from the opposing wing an instead of challenging the player on the centre spot his attention is taken by the player who is at the back post but who is offside.....
I know that is quite basic but it stops any ambiguity at all...if you are on the field of play you are affecting the game and therefore interfering with play
