It's doesn't need to happen now. The laws are quite clear that this was offside by interference. Nothing needs to change, other than Cann and Attwell need to be called out on their mistake, and Oliver for letting it to go unchallenged.
They need to be more definitative on what qualifies as interference......as at present it seems to be that if a player doesnt touch the ball he isnt interfeering.....as we saw with this decision a player can clearly interfere without touching the ball....
For me we should go back to the old rules of offside if you are an attacking player in the attacking half.....a player could be 30 yds away from the ball and still be distracting the opposite fullback when a cross is coming in from the opposing wing an instead of challenging the player on the centre spot his attention is taken by the player who is at the back post but who is offside.....

I know that is quite basic but it stops any ambiguity at all...if you are on the field of play you are affecting the game and therefore interfering with play

I`m as gutted as everyone at being cheated again at OT( seen a few over the years) but I keep asking myself how the fook united got into that position to score when we were in control and winning with 15 minutes to go.

Playing against a team that was only ever going to score past us if we allowed them space to break away it beggars belief that we didnt shore things up in midfield and defence after we scored.

Everytime i see it i see new things, just watched again and rashford CLEARLY cocks his leg as though hes going to shoot
How the fucks that not interfering? How is that not making ederson ready himself for the shot when he doeasnt actually known if rashford is actually off or not.

Its just fucking pathetic.

Will pigmol actually come out and say what their reasoning was?
Rashford feinting to shoot was the first thing I noticed when watching it live. It was really obvious to me and I thought it would be obvious to the referee, and commentators and clearly be given as offside. I was disappointed that the commentators and especially Lescott in the BT studio did not highlight it.

A direct question to the referee should be why is Rasfords deliberate leg movement, feint, checking of stride or whatever you want to call it not interfering?

No probably about it, Akanji would be penalised if he did that and he knew it.
Law 11, Akanji did everything he could in this situation.
Attwell failed to implement Law 11, either he's incompetent, weak, corrupt or a combination of all 3. Only Attwell can answer that one.
If Akanji took out Rashford, it would be a free kick because he was fouled before he was given offside, but not a red card for DOGSO as it couldn't be a goal scoring opportunity as he was offside!

Them's the rules!

You are Bill Shankly and I claim my £5

Low key, uninspired performance coupled with a shit refereeing decision. Possibly we deserved a point out of this mess... but really? If we're going to catch Arsenal we need to start playing much, much better. Our pressing is off - our passing is off - and few players seem to presently have the desire to win.

At our best, we're the best squad in the league. But we're far from our best presently.

Yep, rules are rules.
Akanji knew he would be penalised, linesman knew he had to wait until it played out before (correctly) raising his flag.
Attwell failed to take into account every part of Law 11 even though rules are rules!
All this subjective and grey area bollocks is nothing but a smokescreen from the minority who are trying to justify this laughable decision by the worst referee on the roster.
A referee who has been demoted once before due to his incompetence.

A thought. City were 0-1 with 15 minutes to go and were in control of the game. United made some substitutions and the game starting swinging their way a bit. Fresh legs, more pace, a winger, etc. Wasn’t that the time to bring on La Porte, go with 5 across the back, similar to what every team does against us, drop KDB back into central midfield, with 4 across midfield, and leave Haaland upfront in his own. Pep never does that. Even when City are 1-0 up towards the end of the match, City keep on attacking looking for another goal, instead of shutting up shop and seeing the game out. United would have never scored 1 never mind 2 if City had 5 across the back during the last 15 minutes of the match and had kept the ball.

Totally agree...when you see Yonited, VAR, Old Toilet in the same sentence you ain't getting nothing...
The reality is they won with a dodgy VAR decision....a few weeks ago the tourist fans wanted to get rid of the whole team, all of a sudden they are world beaters....Pep will have to shake things up...they man marked KDB so no feed to EH, no Gundagon, no Stones , no Dias..OK injured....Alverez not getting a sniff..we fell asleep for their second goal instead of concentrating...Always drama playing the tw at s...they can't beat us without the drama..
I even reckon they practised that move in training and gave it a go and got away with it.....

My thoughts exactly

We used to do this. We seem incapable now. Why not take Haaland off! Let’s face it he isn’t going to do any defending so he might as well be off in a game like that 1-0 up with 15 mins to go.

We always let teams back in when we take the lead

Grealish had not long been on and scored. I was waiting for a second tbh as Rags started to open up. We were in control at that point.

Atwell had other ideas and shit himself when faced with that Penandez twat in full Rag rant mode after scoring the most ridiculous goal you will ever see at this level.

That decision affected so much at weekend.
Arse went into their game with a Cigar and slippers, might've been different for them if the gap was down to 2 points.
