If there ever was an odd shaped and looking ground, it was MR in it’s later years before it was demolished.

The new Kippax stand looked shit. The new Platt Lane stand looked even worse.

No doubt by the time Swales had finished it was a very odd looking place, but I still miss it.

Blimey thats a shock, city had what looked like a perfectly good goal disallowed, Good job we have VAR now to stop the rags getting any advantage from a dodgy ref.................................

Anyone got a pic of the Franny Lee bar at the North stand end of the Kippax? People moan about getting served now. Lol. It was only about 12 ft wide.

Actually, I went to an open day with my dad just after the new Kippax had opened. It was at the top of the Kippax in the corporate bit. We went up in a lift lol. Anyway, there was a 3d model (about a metre long) of the whole ground redeveloped to match/mirror the new Kippax. It looked brilliant.

Haha brilliant. Imagine that today… three little lads up on the top of the South Stand roof at the Etihad during a game!

Could have quite easily have contracted asbestosis. ;)
Mind you didn`t a couple of people get arrested for trespassing after getting onto the East Stand at the Etihad a few years ago ??
At the time there was no game going on.

Bloody hell only just seen the video of my above post with those lads/blokes scaling the Etihad !!!

Always remember standing there on that wonderful Boxing Day game v Newcastle, when Colin The King Bell made his half time subs appearance in that tear jerking atmosphere.

Only in the first couple of minutes in the 68 game at OT but we went on to win 3-1 great night,then win the league 2 month's later.

I remember this in a programme. Nine years old I was and so excited that we were going to have a space age looking shiny new stadium. For some reason I had it in my head that they'd be corporate like boxes under the maine stand and the Kippax. Think that was my wild imagination. But it was another pipe dream fed by old Shredded wheat napper.

For me that was the best atmosphere I've ever had the privilege of being part of.

Fantastic photo, My Nan & Grandad were at that game but I have not managed to spot them so far :-)
