PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to completely sever ties. I'll always support and follow City. But I'm going to make this my last season of indulging so much of my pent up energy on games of football. At the moment I only get to see my girlfriend at weekends, I'm done potentially dragging my weekends with her down because of football. Cliche as it sounds, time is too fucking precious. Another poster nailed it earlier; I'm a City fan because of my Dad; when I head back up to Manchester we make it an occasion to watch the games together. The day he goes(which touch wood isn't going to be for a long time) is the day it just won't feel the same. Nothing lasts forever. Football is about memories, and I feel I've enough in the bank to take with me now and comfortably leave all those feelings of angst, euphoria and bitter comedowns behind, to make way for passive interest.
The bastards have got you, it's what they want.

He won't want a £4 Billion asset destroyed and his reputation dragged through the mud. It will be right up there on things to address.

When you’re the head of a trillion dollar investment fund and run half the UAE, everything is involving 4Bn+ investments.

Again fucking ready my posts. I don’t know if we are guilty or innocent just like everyone else on here. All I am saying is a massive IF we have actually done anything this bad that heads need to roll and we will be correctly punished. I hope more than anything that we are innocent but this is a hell of a lot of smoke and we could be in big trouble.
Well that’s very informative - let’s hope then eh

There doesn't appear to be anything above 30 in section C, can't see C80 about away fans chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://resources.premierleague.com/premierleague/document/2022/07/19/40085fed-1e9e-4c33-9f14-0bcf57857da2/PL_Handbook_2022-23_DIGITAL_18.07.pdf
You're looking at this years rule book for 2022/2023, it will be different for 2009/10 (and any other years) as they update every year (some more than others)

I have done that already for about the last two years. Rarely go or watch the games on TV. Too intrusive into my home life. Got to a stage where it was always about the match but have managed to let that go. Even what’s happened today. Fuck it. It’s so obviously bent in favour of the Sky 4 especially the rags and scousers. Newcastle will be the next target.

Can we charge the Premium League with deformation of character and also use the racist card because this is what the issue is really about and the club should come out and say it. Or let it be known through whispers

No, on the contrary I suspect that in the end it benefits neither the league, its brand, nor City for the sanctions to be of any real significance. I'm just guessing btw and have no professional insights or anything like that, but I can see it being a points deduction which maybe means a season out of the CL, and a slap on the wrist. But not much beyond that.

The wider damage to the club's reputation is now done. We've gone from old titles being questioned to literally every season up to and including the 100 point one being in breach of PL rules. Whether we win or lose from here, the damage is done.

There is no way you can come to that conclusion without knowing the details of each charge. They may all be minor inadvertent breaches in which case a points deduction would be excessive even if proven.

It seems to me most of the charges are the same as the UEFA charges are they not? And they depended largely on getting external companies accounting which was never going to happen. Same here. Some new stuff but nothing major I can see unless we really are paying salaries out of AD, which I can't imagine, or think how the PL would know.

But that's the thing mate, I think it's what I want too. Maybe this was just an instigator. Irrespective of what comes of this, in ten years I can say with confidence I won't be devoting half as much energy into City and football in general as I do now.

This is what I have been trying to get at and understand. You look at the wording of the clauses we have been charged with and it reads like something well above the PL pay grade. If they thought it was the case, surely this morning would have played out slightly differently, with CFG being raided by police rather than a statement on the PL website? Much like Juve were.

None of the charges nor their wording implies any law breaking at all, only Premier League rule breaking so I don’t know how you’ve worked that out.

So the very latest the PL have appointed a woman called Allison to take on MCFC with these “allegations “ just two days before a football white paper is being introduced……..

Wtf is really going on here ???

What I think is happening, reading between the lines of things like this. https://www.skysports.com/football/...-what-could-punishment-be-whats-the-timescale

The premier league have taken the emails from the hack + the club's finances and looked for anything that vaguely sounds suspicious. The league, with certain clubs taking a lead, have demanded that City publish further economic materials or private correspondence that they have refused. The league are now taking City to a commission to get access to those materials. When something similar happened at CAS there were in fact lots of communications that cast doubt on the hacked email reporting, but that the club hadn't been open and honest in the first instance. I remain convinced that City weren't happily doing corruption via internal emails because why the fuck would they be that stupid. Everyone at the club feels very, very firmly that they're run as legitimate business, and the commentators who want City charged for general corruption will be very disappointed. The league has rushed this through in part because the government is about to publish their own white paper, and that as a result some of these charges are going to be very, very hard for them to get to stick.

seriously there are people who are going to be very disappointed when we're just fined for not complying with the investigation.

Well that’s very informative - let’s hope then eh
I’m reacting to what has happened like everyone else on here. None of us know the truth. If you have anything more informative maybe post it instead of pointing out flaws in others posts.
