PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Not me. This has been building for years and it's a very detailed set of accusations. The pre-briefing that has happened is incredibly unprofessional for an organisation like the PL. You can also smell American owner's fingers all over it. I've said for some considerable time that the biggest danger to the PL is American owners. They lost their battle with Newcastle and will be doubling down on this one. There's a lot at stake here.
They can double down all they want, if City are confident of no wrong doing, that's good enough for me

What will be, will be...

Think of the positives though.

No more annoying tourists taking selfies during the games.

Those cringe half and half scarves.

The return of Blues priced out of the game.
I’d love it just as much as now and just as much as I did in divisions below in the past.

We’ve never supported City because we were a club that won things or did things the easy way. We’d have all chosen United as kids of we wanted that. We support City because we’re Mancunians and they’re the club that represents this city.

Our attendances went up when we got relegated to the third tier. We are thick skinned and enjoy the ride. Juventus got relegated and had titles stripped from them and came back and won 7 titles in a row… so why not us?

Bring anything on they want to throw at us, I say. Fuck ‘em all! We’ll be there no matter what.

Might get a few scraps as well. Back to the 70’s and 80’s.

Even better, we could draw FCUM in the early rounds of the cups. Imagine that.

They are also changing the fit and proper persons test, coming to a panel near you soon.

There's always the £3bn a year Championship Invitational League which we could start!

Sunderland
Rangers
Celtic
Birmingham
Bolton
Stoke
Everton
QPR
Derby
Leeds
Forest
Blackburn
Middlesbrough
Sheff Weds
Sheff United
Ipswich
Preston
Bristol City
City
Burnley

Be some fucking mental aways and we could always cap tickets for all at £20.
Good idea!

Let the other cunts start up a European Super League. We can just do this^ instead

Club Statement:

''Manchester City FC is surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules, particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been provided with.
The Club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent Commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position.
As such we look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.''

Seems very relaxed.
Paraphrase:
"FFS...ok, give us a moment to break out the legal HIMARS again...and don't say we didn't warn you."

It's unlikely it'll be a fast process, with this many allegations it will be a lengthy process to unwind them and it seems likely that even if found guilty of anything we'll see any punishment stayed pending appeal.

And I believe the lack of co-operation charges date back several years and are not based on what happened in the very recent term.

The biggest worry to me is what happens until things are settled. I could see this being a significant blocker to recruitment - would top talent sign with the sword of Damocles hanging, I doubt it. And if we're innocent, all the worse ... it could be a drawn-out process that ruins several seasons. If the club did break any regulations I do hope they come to a settlement and take a reasonable punishment quickly - though this remains to be seen, clearly.
No can we appeal too?
