PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Id ban sky from the ground and let amazon stream all games for free till this is over

Then id sell home games to the highest bidder and tell sky to go suck some american ceos cock
Ban Sky one of the major financial contributors to the league and therefore us?

Do i think our club have done some dodgy things to get around FFP, yeah i do but id lay every penny to my name that numerous other clubs in the football world have also done some similar things.
Im all for cleaning up the game but were being treated as if we are the only club that is dirty in a sea of whiter than white honestly run clubs, that is obviously ridiculous and the thing that really grinds my fucking gears.
I personally think everything we’ve done has been within the laws of our game. The charges are woolly at best. Let’s wait for the details before judgemen.

The allegation appears to be that the club has acted in bad faith, that the audited accounts are wrong (not accidentally), for 9 years and material transactions were concealed from the PL. On any basis, that is an allegation amounting to dishonesty and very serious.

As it was at CAS: "The Adjudicatory Chamber found that ADUG entered into “arrangements ” and/or a “scheme” to make payments through Etisalat (for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons) and Etihad (for the 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons) that were, in fact, “disguised equity payments ”. The true nature of these payments is said to have been deliberately concealed and improperly reported by MCFC under the CLFFPR. These very serious allegations necessarily involve a conspiracy on the part of MCFC, its shareholder and these two sponsors."

Later these were described as "charges for dishonest concealment."

So the PL can try and sugar coat it but City will double down on it and say the charges are allegations of dishonesty and therefore require a more cogent level of evidence alongside the relevant standard of proof (balance of probabilities).

In short, the allegation of civil "fraud", false accounting and dishonesty is absolutely relevant here. City will no doubt refer to the English Law equivalent of this from CAS "MCFC also refers to the arbitral award issued in CAS 2017/A/5379, where the CAS panel, inter alia, held that "inherent within [the comfortable satisfaction] standard is a requirement that the more serious the allegation, the more cogent the supporting evidence must be in order for the allegation to be found proven

Accounts are fully audited and signed off.

This is spurious shit throwing imo.

The rival fan stuff doesn’t bother me — most of them don’t know fucking shit. The age of the instantaneous worldwide free distribution of rampant stupidity while hiding behind anonymity long ago disabused any notion of bothering with them. It’s the press — those PAID to offer facts, perspective and insight and with an even larger distribution platform (albeit not always free) — that bothers me. From the most innocuous of announcers to the most bald-faced of City-haters (take your pick), nearly every one will have reached a conclusion and will broadcast it, if they haven’t already: Guilty of ruining the game. All that came before is or should be or will be null and void.

I will of course watch matches on screens while (if I can manage it) listening to Alistair Mann broadcast the action on my phone. Or I’ll watch in fucking Spanish. And I’ll be there, still, every year when I can be. And here on BM. But otherwise, I will not engage. I am sure the few rival fans/press who have remained impartial will be outed and promoted on this thread and others. And when the verdict comes, I’ll read it, and make up my mind how angry and upset I’ll be then. But let the vast majority of other club fans and media-type fuckstains who have already condemned us destroy me or my sanity? Fuck the fucking fuck off.

It’s not that I’m not going down without a fight. It’s that I’m not going down, period.
Good post that pal.

I think if you lived in or around Manchester rival stuff would bother you, it would grate on your nerves listening to gobshite armchair United and Liverpool fans rubbing it in that we're cheats. It's different on social media where you can block or ignore someone but in the the street the workplace or pub it often goes beyond rival banter, especially when people can't handle their drink and cocky bravado kicks in.

I have previously worked all over the UK and met many fans of other clubs, mostly been a good football conversation and friendly banter but I've met the occasional loudmouth knobhead dishing all the oil money plastic club no fans jibes. I wouldn't mind but most of the gobby ones have never been or rarely go to watch their team live.

I know lot's of reds and have quite a few good mates who follow United. We hardly talk football but if we do it's always civilised conversation with a bit of added banter for good measure.

But, I'm not sure i can be as friendly and calm to piss-taking idiots I don't know brandishing us cheats. I don't attract much trouble but there's always a village idiot on the wind up about. It's been a long time since i gave someone a crack over football but when i can no longer reason or don't want to because i don't want to hear their hateful shit spewing from their foaming gobs i may have to pull my shoulder back and swing it in someone's mush if they won't take fuck off you red **** for an answer. I'm not a violent bloke though so that's a last resort of snapping which i feel I'm getting towards.

8 pages on the evils of City’s owner’s short cutting their way to the top by paying obscene wages on over inflated transfer fees on players, no mention of the east Manchester regeneration, new education facilities, training complex, stadium expansion works and community projects
Next page , how wonderful it is to see Wrexham’s fairytale rise due to multi million dollar Hollywood owners, rebuilding the decaying ground, buying higher league players on big wages to fast track their rise and finally raising the profile of ‘Soccer’ in the USA
Spot on. And I'm saying that as someone who is enjoying seeing what those two are doing at Wrexham

Some amazing humour from City fans this week. The rags and the scousers just don’t have that the same. What will be will be. Still be there for the rest of my life and enjoy it. What an amazing time we have had following City and am sure it will continue. I avoid all the negativity of the social media salivating over us being relegated etc, it just winds me up so no point.

Save to the extent that the Panel members may have their own biases, I think you should assume quality arbitrators are objective and will deal with it fairly. But even in the Courts, litigation risk is always high. Few cases have merits confidently over 70%
I just have no faith in the PL case being objective and fair. I appreciate that arbitrators must carry a high level of integrity but we all have biases. The same as how the UEFA panel found us guilty and then an independent panel at CAS saw it differently.

It is really concerning that our fate is with an ‘independent’ PL panel and that there is no route to the UK justice system. I have little knowledge of the law but please could you explain why we can’t take this to the high court?

I don't agree with that at all. And there is no High Court route. The only appeal is another PL Panel. So lets hope I am right!

Honestly I don't see any way these allegations are heard in the High Court - skirmishes perhaps but not the main event. We are stuck with the PL rules I think. But I think there is a good chance this makes it harder not easier for the PL to find against us. But that is quite a big guess.

Not according to the rules and agreements we have signed as a member and shareholder of the PL

I can't believe you could be so wrong @projectriver . not sure if you are simply misinterpreting the questions people asking you or you are misinterpreting the rulebook. I hope it is the former. Look in the same page you have posted under section X.4. where they speak about the dispute with the panel's decision. and if you move a couple of pages from the above section you end up in section X.37 where they speak about challenging the decision in english high court.

ofcourse you are correct in the fact that the whole hearing will not take place with the court. but the court can indeed look at the facts that were used to make the final decision and make its own findings regarding that.

Laura Woods desperate for Jamie Jackson to make a click bait comment regarding city. She is asking if the charges will impact players coming to the club.

Christ, this I'd like asking will an inmate have visitors in prison before he's even found guilty and had a trial.

Talkshite are so desperate.

Wrexham's USA money is good, loved by the media.

he is wrong. we can indeed challenge the decision in court

I still cant my head around why the pl have investigated us to this level.

Were the pl acting a hunch ?

Do we know all members of the pl have their accounts looked into so deeply ?

City are the only member of the top 6 that wants an independent body

This stinks to high heaven

It's so clear that the other 5 ( 8 ) all have something to hide by not want a independent body.

Ignore 99% of the press/media they are up the red tops arses and wouldnt dare print the truth unlike Martin Samuel.

This is 100% a witch against City so the pl and its clubs can keep the bent nature of the pl under wraps.

The pl now have VAR to help get the results they want.

The small pl clubs wont say a word because of the money they receive. They wont derail the gravy train.

I still thinks it against the law to stop an owner investing as much as he wants to improve his club. If I bought a business in any other in any other business sector I can invest as much as I want.
How can the football business legally stop investment ?
How can it be bad to be debt free, pump millions into the area around your statium, improve the area so much. How the fuck can that be wrong.

Yet it's ok to be half a billion in debt or even a billion, do nothing for your communities. Buy up house and leave empty pushing down prices.

City are run brilliantly by top top professional people.

City have to win this witch hunt for the sake of English football, if we lose the Americans take over. It will become a closed shop league. No relegation no promotion.

This is more than just City and other club fans need to wake up.

there should be a lot of outlets banned from the club after this, every journalist who has ever slandered us should be first, don't know if we can ban sky but don't see why we couldn't ban a few of their team, same with radio (talksport) and definitely need to stop giving any of them the hospitality that we have done, if they want food or drink they can queue up at kiosks with rest of us but as they don't have seasoncard discount the prices have shot up due to minflation.
Yeah - all the cunts who have assumed our guilt before we've had a chance to defend ourselves can fuck right off if they think they're getting a pint of Asahi for £4.77 instead of £5.30. And we should be allowed to shit in their chicken Balti pies for good measure - seeing what comes out of my arse after a night on the lash and a spicy curry the fuckers won't be able to tell anyway.

I know you keep saying it's irrelevant which team members on the panel support as these are ultra professional and the bias/club colours will be put to One side. Do you think if Murray Rosen was a City seasoncard holder the PL would of still chosen him for the panel.
