PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Remember the fixture well but not the result because we were in the Burnley end getting acquainted with some ruffians named the Suicide Squad.

Hee the good old days
Yes, we had one or two dalliances with that lot in the late 90s/early 00s. I remember one of them shouting, 'Come on then City, I'll give thee a bunch of sixes'.

Just catching up. So it’s highly unlikely we’ll be able to go the the English courts and most probably, barring them cocking up somehow, we’ll have to just take the panel’s verdict as final? The panel that’s hand-picked by the PL? That’s deflating. Day 1 I was low, yesterday felt like a good day, now today has me taking a dip in confidence again. And we’re only 3 days into however long it will end up taking!

One thing i cant get my head around is that liverpool scandal hacking the accounts etc.
why was there hardly any news on this?
Are we really to nice and allowed them to just pay the one million and thats the end of it or did the dippers threaten us with something a lot bigger.

This should have been as big a story as ours is now.

It boils down to one big claim really. That at least 9 years of Manchester City Football Club accounts are not true and fair (and were knowingly provided to the PL in bad faith). Everything else is noise. I've always thought it would take a long time. Nick di Marco KC says 4 years. Good enough for me
Seems that‘s a huge allegation that would be impossible to prove without a huge team of investigators, do you think the Premier League would be happy for this to run for another four years? Also is this three person committee or our accusers at the Premier League even qualified to carry out a forensic investigation on such a serious allegation? Seems everything is based on the hacked emails which is basically a bank got robbed when you were in town and you have a large amount of money in your account that you cannot account for but we have no evidence you robbed the bank.

If City paid him directly for Al Jazira contract then I guess this issue will be hard to defend.
Why tf would city pay. It would have been from AJ. More to the point how could city have paid for something they hadnt accounted for?
There would have been a hole in the accounts. Cash out, no expense recorded.

Its effectively a sponsorship deal that are all over the place now. Bloody messi is an ambassador for qatar.

AJ will have paid him money for a separate contract for services unconnected to city and the contract between city and him.

Theres nothing illegal about that
Theres nothing immoral about that
Theres nothing incorrect about the accounting for that

Its mud being slung with no legal/accounting basis.

since this started I am still bemused by how a club of this stature and clout to hire top lawyers, accountants, and auditors, can fall foul of what must be relatively simple (if it's PL driven) rules and regulations ? where have the PL supposedly gotten this information from ?

oh and for all the Chelsea fans who are having a good go about being relegated, be careful what you wish for because the Abramovich years would be a pandoras box of goodies far richer than our "alleged" misdoings

oh and for talkshite and other sham media outlets peddling garbage that teams who came second to city in the league and cup competitions should have their titles, they seem to forget they were won on the pitch, not in the goings on behind the scenes which players rarely have much insight into, so fook right off and try looking at it neutrally instead of this insidious witch hunt that all the envious gobshites have joined, and I know I should not let it bother me but fair enough if we have done wrong, but for the moment these are unproven "allegations", and a lot if not most, of the media outlets should remember that before proclaiming city are relegated etc

try being responsible journalists just for once

And some are saying it will all be done professionally, and impartially. bwhaaaaaaaaa

It is like a Criminal case being Prosecuted by a good friend of the Victim, Judged by a Relative. And 12 of his best mates on the Jury.

I can not believe one, or two, are actually expecting an unbiased conclusion. They need to give their Head a huge fucking wabble.

They have already found us guilty without trial. Their Dogs in the Media are providing the narrative to throw the metaphorical Kitchen Sink at us punishment wise, pontificating afterwards that the excessive punishment was "For the Good of the Game" and not to protect the Top 4 Sarc.

This is going to the High Court.
The fact they have to say impartial means they’ve considered it needs to be, therefore it won’t be.

It is not an independent panel if the PL are choosing who sits on it. It is an unbelievable situation in terms of national justice. I was previously opposed to the concept of an Independent Regulator but this whole pantomime has proved that the PL can't possibly regulate itself.
Just think about it. The PL is composed of 20 clubs and a significant group of those clubs (at last nine who have gone public) have supported a smear campaign against us for naked commercial reasons. The CEO (Richard Masters) was personally vetted for the job by Directors from two of the clubs (LFC and MUFC) and the new Chairperson of the Board (Alison Brittain) has stated she is a "lifelong MUFC supporter."
A decision which could literally destroy the fabric of our club leading to big job losses and a major impact on ongoing development of Manchester will now be taken by a panel of three people chosen by the PL itself. They have hit us with 101 charges dating back 14 years (just think about the sheer volume of evidence) and demanded we respond in 14 days. Even in a proven corrupt country like the UK this really is taking the piss.
Yet some happy clappers on here think these KC’s won’t have any sort of bias. Fuck what they say, if they can’t see its rigged then there’s no helping them. Everything is being set up for years of red shirt dominance, again. That’s unless if our lawyers go to town on them.

Or have we suckered them in ?

The Independent Regulator is an absolute must imo.

The PL only has credibility with the whores who know they can directly benefit from this corrupt organisation and the insidious PiGMOL .

It’s not being an Arsenal ‘fan’ I have a problem with, it’s the fact he is a season card holder. A fan can be many things, like having a team for the sake of it, or a celebrity being given one on soccer am, following the team your family does, many ‘fans’ don’t even follow that particular teams results, it’s just a label for some, there are many instances, but this fella is a SC holder and I doubt it’s just to impress clients. I know it boils down to integrity and so on, but it just feels like the PL are laughing in our faces with this appointment
You can be certain Rosen personally knows the Directors at Arsenal from corporate events. No matter how impartial he is there is a clear conflict of interest. This is unfair and has to be challenged.

One of the CAS panel worked in the Middle East office of Etihad and Etisalat's lawyers.
Has that ever been confirmed? If so, that’s dodgy as fuck and I’d love to know how we manage to pull that one off.

The prem cherry picking their team isn’t a good sign, although I can understand the logic of these people have got very credible reputations.

This is brilliant. I'm writing my next missive for KOTK so have been going through the rule books to see exactly what we've been charged with, and it's clear the PL have fucked it up big time. For example, in 2011/12, they've charged us with a breach of Rule E11. That rule in the 2011/12 Pl Handbook says "Each club shall enter the FA Cup".

I've looked at a few others and it's a similar story. They've seemingly charged us against another rule which says that, except for televised games, all PL games will be played on Saturdays at 3pm.

It's an absolute fuck up.
Thank fuck for you colin

The River project sets this argument out in detail and it is a strong one on paper. However, there is imo enough scope to engineer some form of High Court appeal should it become necessary. Time will tell.
It’s the scale of the allegations which is the problem. On the balance of probabilities, I fear they will get us on something. Mission accomplished.
