PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

They were well short in 86, Victims, Everton, West Ham and Rags were top 4.
Clive Allen scored 49 in 86/87, top 2 that year were the scouse clubs.
They've flirted occasionally but always fell away when it really mattered - Spursy!
It was the year after! But yes, you are correct, nothing convincing.

I think they will be fine under FFP as they can always sell a couple of players to offset their losses

Swiss Ramble did a great breakdown explaining what it might look like for them

their cash flow is another matter though , although FFP doesn’t look at the cash flow statement ….

I think they may need to finish top 4 ,or they could be another Leeds
I would think they will get to a situation where they need to sell a fair few players to meet ffp and the players worth the most in ffp terms will be their homegrown players. Mount and reece James could be forced out.

If you asked him what the charges were, he wouldn't have a clue. Just another bitter dipper.
He’d be shouting from the rooftops if they were in the top four , but he’s battling away for European conference football - at least it will give those loveable rogue scousers the excuse to go and rob European cities they’ve not robbed before.

Some fucker is going to get seriously fleeced buying Mason fucking Mount imo

Hope to christ it's not us !

Just really bad aggregating

“Guardiola’s outburst came a day after City chief executive Ferran Soriano was seen shaking hands with executives at other clubs at a Premier League meeting in London, a disconnect that has gone down very badly among other members of the top flight.”
What's more annoying is the slant on every reaction City has and the hypocrisy in their complaints. "Pep can't say this" "City can't threaten that, that's wrong". Err, yes they can, those clubs have been doing it for years(Pep didn't reference any club by name in his so called "threats" either), even before the Der Spiegel propaganda.

They are acting, like all of those club reps didn't shake hands with our club reps before going behind the clubs back, having secret meetings, writing letters to the PL, to UEFA, to CAS and so on.

Remember what the media said should happen if City had lost the CAS appeal and City continued to complain or allow club reps question the verdict publicly?

What was the response from all of these people when it turned out the shoe was on the other foot? They did everything they said City and it's fans should not be allowed to do and more. They didn't even admit City were right to challenge UEFA's verdict which should have been the minimum requirement. Even CAS got a tarnished reputation in the sour grapes aftermath.

UEFA's own rulebook says everything has to be done in accordance with EU Law. Most of these people were referencing facts like that in the rulebook themselves, as a justification for blocking City's path to CAS. It was found that UEFA did not meet their own criteria, they would indeed have been breaking their own rules by charging City. City not proving their innocence is less relevant than UEFA not having enough behind their claims to justify City using all their evidence. UEFA having no proof is not a technicality at all, it shows UEFA were misleading everyone on what they had, it raises questions about how "independent" their CFCB truly is too.

I have wondered this past week whether they’re trying to divert attention away from an incoming barrage of shit that’s coming their way.

The best thing for us now would be for allegations about the PL/FA to come out. I’m absolutely certain there will be some but does anybody have their hands on it/evidence of it?

If anyone does, it’d be us I reckon.
AbuDhabi intelligence.

Leeds were borrowing against future earnings that weren't guaranteed.
They failed to qualify for the champions league one year and couldn't repay monies they had borrowed on the premis that they would have this income.
They had to sell a lot of players to pay back the money they owed, turned to shit and spent 16 years outside the top flight.
My understanding is that FFP wouldn't have prevented them doing what they did but I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable posters on here will correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not entirely sure.
FFP definitely wouldn’t have stopped Leeds going bust, it’s also basically the same model the Trafford mob have been following. With the amount they have splurged when added to the premium the glazers have trousered and their £500m debt, they are only a couple of very poor seasons away from going bust. They need to get back in the CL and fast, hence their need to work with the other cunts to stitch us up.

Cheers mate
I thought I remembered someone saying FFP wouldn’t prevent Leeds or Portsmouth's situation.
FFP hasn't stopped Bury going to the wall either but apparently it's there to safeguard the sport.
Yeah right!

I wonder if City have some dirt on other PL teams?

Pep's 'be careful' got me thinking, our owners are exceptionally well connected and it's not a massive stretch to think that some key sensitive information could come their way regarding our rivals.

How to release said information is the puzzle for me. We need an Independent Regulator, they could then just hand over what they have.
I hope our info came from hacked emails

Just watched the football focus interview about City with Dion Dublin, Martin Keown and Sam Lee from the athletic whoever he is and whatever the athletic is. Whatever happened to impartiality bbc? Think they only mentioned once the charges are allegations. Keown quick to come out with financial doping accusations but what these guys forgot is Arsenal, Man Yoo, Livarpool, Chelsea, and before the top 4 in the 90's Leeds and Newcastle all did exactly the same thing. Bought the best players, invested in the club and tried to win trophies. Not one pundit, journalist, tv presenter, reporter or so called knowledgeable person has made the point that these 'rules' were brought in when Man City became wealthier than them and started to win trophies again. Selective memories these people.
