Genuinely think this is it. When Pantillimon took over for Hart, it brought a much better second half of the season from Joe.

Hopefully they use a few games with Ortega just to see if it gets Ederson right.

The 2 best matches of the season for a GK for our team have been done by Ortega. He deserves a chance.

Ederson is not our GK to make great saves (he is average at best), but because his distribution is superb and he very rarely makes mistakes...until now. This season he has made several mistakes, and I think he is a weak link.

Had to laugh when he pings one of his signature passes inch perfect for Mahrez just for him to be coming back from an offside position. Feel like that just typifies his season at the moment. Not much going for him.

But I have a lot of faith in Eddie, I agree he’s not had a great spell but he’s not exactly been helped by his defence. There are plenty of keepers who look brilliant playing for a Bournemouth or Leeds where they get to make 20 saves a game from half shots outside the box. It’s quite a lot harder when you have one save to make and that save is usually past our high press so essentially either a one-on-one or a free shot from 10 yards out.

No keeper in the league is going to come out of those looking good.

Why did he lumber after the ball rather than defend his near post in their ‘penalty’ incident. ?
On 65 minutes he did one of his trademark attempts at dropping onto a low cross only to miss it completely and let the ball go right into the heart of the penalty area.
Ortega should be given the shirt.

He's on record as having the worst shot to save ratio in the PL. He doesn't dominate his penalty area at corners or free kicks, he's prone to wildly rushing out, and his positional sense is (in my view) frequently questionable.

He may well be perfect for Pep's system but that's purely down to his keeper/sweeper and distribution skills. He's good at what he does, but he's not a good goalkeeper.

As I've said before, there's a good reason why he's Allison's back-up for Brazil. Shot stopping is not his forte.

He was our 'worst' / weakest player tonight. What was going through his head when he gave away the (imo) clear penalty, I really can't imagine. It certainly wasn't anything from a goalkeeping manual.
