He's on record as having the worst shot to save ratio in the PL. He doesn't dominate his penalty area at corners or free kicks, he's prone to wildly rushing out, and his positional sense is (in my view) frequently questionable.

He may well be perfect for Pep's system but that's purely down to his keeper/sweeper and distribution skills. He's good at what he does, but he's not a good goalkeeper.
With all those deficiencies it’s truly a miracle that he’s won the last three Golden Gloves.

And if he’s perfect for Pep’s system, and we keep winning titles with him in net, why would you want to replace him with someone who was less than perfect for Pep’s system. Not sure you’ve thought this through.

One that instils confidence in spectators for a start.

It's down to the coach at the end of the day. I'm just a punter who's seen a lot of much better keepers over the years. He wouldn't be in my top 10 City keepers I've witnessed.
Yet not one of those ten, could get anywhere close to his calmness in possession and his distribution, which if you haven't noticed is integral to the way we play ever since Pep has been manager. And your other post saying it was a blatant penalty, just behave. They rarely, in fact almost never get given.

The modern day keeper is 75% distribution with their feet and 25% using his hands in a game , Ederson is ideal for how Pep want his teams to play , his shot to goal ration might be average , but he is far more than that and you dont win Premier leagues with poor goalkeepers , it just doesnt happen.

That is the crux in my opinion.Great save from Coutinho last match and a bit unlucky with the pen tonight. It was a pen but so was Martinez on Erling if that's the case. There may well be better shot stoppers etc but Pep is playing percentages for that distribution and four titles out of five prove his is correct. Suddenly we are going long and I love it!

Needs to improve his kicking and shot stopping. Below par for a while, still effective but just not as good for whatever reason.

Totally understand why James Trafford will be our #2 next season and not on loan at Bolton.

Bigger frame, better at saves, same with feet as Eddie!

Why are we having a go at his kicking now too? Arsenal went man for man, they couldn't have made it harder for any keeper to play out from the back. Arteta knows city, its a testament to how vital ederson is to our build up that he's trying to nullify him as best as possible yet he still pinged most of his 30-40 yard passes straight to their intended target all game. His passing might not have been 100% successful but was great given the circumstances.

I've definitely thought this through GDM, as I've said, it's down to the coach. I'm just expressing an opinion. We could have had a different goalkeeper and done even better. We'll never know.

One thing I would say though... I think you're massively understating the contribution of our defence and defensive midfield players towards Ederson's Golden Glove awards.

I'd have defintely hedged my bets with 5. 10 is a lot. This should be fun....

For the supporters who don't rate Ederson would you swap him for either De Gea or Ramsdale?

Behave!
It was a clumsy, naive attempt to stop the player rather than the ball. A definite foul.
I suspect that the ref considered the second yellow but decided it was just clumsy rather than intentional.
I'm guessing that your last sentence is a hint towards some sort of 'refereree agenda' against City. If so, that's nonsense. The ref had a very good game tonight imo.
