PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I can see your point there could be a ripple and people love football gos, but I’m just not convinced.

If it’s a technicality or whatever, never forget the rule is absolute bollocks, in fact so much detail in all aspects of this you can lose that.

In tax law they have a mosaic rule, of rather then look at the pieces step back and look at the picture.

We have one club that has been transformed, the academy, stadium, surrounding area etc. and one that’s run down.

They are putting more and more pressure on spending/ investing less, pretty sure the goal is 70% on transfers/ agent fees and wages.

Which leaves 30% for running costs, but mainly I assume to get some decent profit out of the game for their owners, providing a good income and a raise in the value of the club.

Anyway we all know that, so it makes no difference to us.

Plus other fans give no credit, Ferguson bullied refs and they had way more money then anyone else, Chelsea was backed by oil money, Liverpool doped them all up.

Arsenal with Henry, Pires, Bergkamp under Wenger, I do give a lot of credit for and for me is the one team who could match some of ours for the way they played. That said am I giving them credit or do I just like them because it was them or United.

Leicester were quality but again everyone claimed it was doping.
I love the fact you have used that wonderful Anglo Saxon word - BOLLOCKS.
That’s gold dust.
As you say “we all know that makes no difference to us”

They fucking hate us don’t they.

Love and peace Blue.

CTID.
CTID.

I think this is one of the most interesting threads and I would say a lot more knowledgeable then the equivalent threads on the red teams that is just full of a bile.

Basically we have been found guilty of breaching FFP!!

This thread has given detail accounts of the actual charges, links to decent and not so decent articles and opinions from qualified people who understand this stuff. Obviously, you learn your posters and have to know the best you are getting is a persons opinion on their best guess of the situation.

Yes, it’s blue tinted but it’s not like the non bluemoon stuff is neutral.

If it’s not for you, jog on there are great posts on Jack’s return to form, whether we are better with or without Haaland and who is going to get Bellingham.

I can completely understand someone not wanting to read about law/ finance/ auditing etc. on a football forum.

However, for those who do this thread is good, no reason for it to be removed and no reason why rival fans can’t read it.

So just because I’m not a lawyer my ramblings aren’t of any worth and I shouldn’t be allowed to post in this thread?

That hurts. I’m going to start to post even more incoherently

Do you not think there are similar legal experts on RAWKous or RagCafe explaining the ins and outs of the UEFA hearing, the CAS judgement and the likely charges and a breakdown of the substantive issues raised by the PL.

I mean these people will want to be informed so they can debate the issues objectively amongst themselves and with City fans they meet.
I've seen some very insightful posts on Red Cafe. Not so much on RAWK. Some of the United posters are knowledgeable about the areas that are important to them - Glazers, how their spending is affected by FFP etc. But they haven't had the same scrutiny we have had over FFP, so I find they don't have the depth of knowledge some of our guys are able to offer.

@M18CTID - appreciate your comments (and the character verification!).

When I was told this yesterday, I reacted in the way most on here have. A mixture of disbelief and laughter if I'm honest. After 40 years of supporting City and hearing every conceivable terrace conspiracy theory known to man, it was going to be filed with the rest, but when it became obvious that the guy I was talking to was deadly serious and there was more to this than a simple conspiracy theory, I started to take an interest. He mentioned a couple of names who could "verify" his claims, one of whom I spoke to and I was told exactly the same thing. I'm also aware that a reasonably well known City twitter account has the same information. I'm not some wet behind the ears snotty-nosed kid, I'm what is commonly known on these pages as an FOC. A typical Mancunian cynic in all things in life, don't seek the limelight and I'm generally apathetic to stuff like this. However, in MY opinion, there is substance to this and anyone who thinks it isn't possible that such a conversation took place (and was recorded) is living in the dark ages.

Anyway, I just want to clarify a couple of things:

There's a very big difference between blackmail and leverage.
The recording wasn't obtained by surreptitious means in any way linked to the Club, whether that be by Middle Eastern special forces, Chinese weather balloons or MI5. It has been handed to the club by a third party.
The intervening "voice" on the recording was not part of the matchday on field team, not a member of the VAR team and not the matchday commander.
The on field referee received an instruction from the intervening voice, who allegedly used the phrase "levelling up".
The "dossier" I mentioned in my original email is my take on things, I have not suggested that the club has one, I'm simply expressing my opinion, although I'd be amazed if they didn't have one.
The club who have distanced themselves from the Nasty 9 is Burnley.

By posting what I did yesterday, I knew I was potentially setting myself up to be a laughing stock, accused of being a raving lunatic, a complete & utter fantasist. My PM's cover all those bases, trust me. Each to their own, I've got broad shoulders. But ask yourself this...why would a perfectly normal, regular Joe City fan, put himself through the ringer like this, if he wasn't confident in the information he was given?

Yes, it could be bullshit, but then again, it could very well be true. There's many, many scandals over the years that were scarcely believable at the time. Scandals that would never have seen the light of day but for the meanderings of some FOC on a faceless platform.

Is football in this country as squeaky clean as they'd have you believe? Yeah....right, sure it is.

The truth will out.

Up the fucking Blues.
Good for you for having the courage to post regardless of the potential backlash. It wasn't that long ago that many refused to believe there was an agenda. People who questioned decisions on a regular basis that usually favoured certain teams and penalised City were treated with scepticism. Dismissive comments like " tin foil hats " " blue tinted spectacles " and the old favourite " the table doesn't lie " were trotted out. Certain comments were reported about the " brand " and a " strategic plan " being in place and some didn't even question that. Added to the odd decisions seen at an ever increasing rate with every passing game as City grew stronger, some still refuse to believe. These decisions in favour of some teams and against others along with the introduction of VAR means that the excuse of " human error " can no no longer be as readily accepted as it used to be. City once again put out of the Champions League against Spurs because the one frame showing the handball conclusively was unavailable to the referee. Sheffield United competing against Manchester United for top four score a goal against Villa but goal line technology wasn't working, against Brentford a penalty in favour of City not given where the Brentford player had the ball in both hands on the line " inconclusive ". With every passing game the conspiracy theorists seem less and less suspect.
Make of this what you will, but I've just been privy to some startling information that would blow the lid off PGMOL and the power brokers at the Premier League, if it became public. It involves a recording of a conversation between the match day referee and VAR official at a recent away match, a recording that is now in the hands of City.

It's my firm belief that City have compiled a dossier so incendiary, that the Premier League will have no choice but to totally exonerate the Club of any wrongdoing. If they don't, this is going nuclear. Either way, we hold all the cards and this explains why we're so bullish about the eventual outcome. The Premier League are on the back foot, and in my opinion, are currently lobbying the membership as to how best to quietly end the process. I have also been advised that at least one of the "Nasty 9" has had board level discussions with City, distancing themselves from the others in the cabal.

Pep's press conference tells us all we need to know. Watch it again, look at the anger and barely controllable rage in the mans eyes. His attitude wasn't based upon him being reassured about some poxy finances & bullshit charges, it was because he KNOWS exactly what is coming.

Sit back and enjoy the ride Blues.

Exactly.
It’s the reputational damage that’s a free hit here.
most rival fans especially redtops call us cheats from the uefa case , saying we were found guilty cos they fined us 10m and they couldnt press further charges due to time barring , nothing will change that regardless of the future outcome , fuck em

Whatever happens we’ll be called cheats for ever in the eyes of many even if we’re completely exonerated and get a grovelling apology.. so let’s just get the outcome we want and fuck ‘em all

I don’t read either. This is my one and only social media outlet. I do notice the difference over here though between Rag and Dipper fan bases.
My best mate is a lifelong Liverpool supporter and through our wilderness years I would have been very supportive of him in his dealings with the United windup merchants of which there are many.

It is a generalisation but somewhat largely true. United supporters know full well that football is just a business and while they are or were on top they had or have no problem reaping the rewards of superior financial wealth. They know full well what got them there and that once there they endeavoured to use that power to stay there. Not all of them, but a lot know full well what is going on and will accuse us of all sorts as banter and baiting and Wumming.
If you are trying to explain to them it just gives them a warm glow inside. They look at the hook in your mouth and laugh. They have no interest in explanations. As I said, they know at heart we’re right.

Liverpool supporters on the other hand are definitely a cult. I think a lot genuinely believe they are the holiest of holy and the only club with a tradition.

I actually felt sorry for giving my mate the reality of the situation over the past decade. I’ve informed him of the goings on and rather than it spoil his viewing of football he’s just come to accept what he sees on the field and doesn’t bother with the crap at boardroom level.
City are and have been excellent and the team to beat. He has loved the football we play and just feels sorry that their rise above United corresponded with us setting the bar so high.

So him aside, my experience over here is that United supporters are Wums but Liverpool supporters are taken in by their own press.
