He is doing what any leader would do, especially with people who don’t support him and will work to get rid of him.

If the Tories win its on Starmer, not me.

I will not be voting Labour, if the Tories win so be it, either way the left does not win. So why care.

Plus I have just found out that he has taken it upon himself to decide that Corbyn will not be able to run at the next election. It simply is not up to him to decide that, it is the local CLP. I have warned before about the anti democratic centrists, they are more dangerous than you imagine because democracy does not matter to them.

Not sure how the electoral maths will work. I assume labour are a shoe-in due to polling which is around 1997 levels. In 97 labour had 50 seats in Scotland though and now they have one. Maybe we're headed for a hung parliament or 'labour'/Tory coalition? Starmer would be right at home with that.
 
He fence sititng stance on trans issues and other protected charactoristics are not endearing him to many especially younger people.

He has appeased the liberal and soft right but many other he show no interest in, too busy with times readers and the middle class while relying on traditional labour voters of uni age sticking with the party

where did I say be should pander, he should at least have an honest opinion either way

He send out condolemce tweets all the time on subjects he rhinks will make certain people happy and fuck the rest, that is not what labpur is abput, labour is/was inclusive for all, now if you face doean't fit or you are not a vote winner you are ignored, doesn't bode well for policy and communities later on

tories are a joke and te cunts they always are, the opposition are becoming a myopic fundamentalist party where no vioce that isn't in message is expelled or told to leave, labour in it's many iterations always invited different opinions and voices from soft to hard left and democratic debate Starmer has created a autocratic divisive party more so than the last lot, kinnock or blair ever did.

it’s very clear Labour are just doing whatever they can to prolong the status quo - which is a predicted 150 seat majority.

They have recognised that the current government is doing all the campaigning for them and all Starmer has to do is offer a beige, inoffensive alternative.

So he’s not going to be drawn into a culture war on trans rights, he’s not going to back the strikes in a really public way, just okay up the gov failings, and he’s not going to unveil any major policies.


Being a bit waffley and unsure on controversial topics won’t help him, but it will hurt him less than coming down hard either way.

Personally I think it’s risky because you have to get people to get out of their houses and vote FOR you, not assume they’ll vote against the incumbent, but a few snazzy policy ideas and a good election campaign should be enough to mobilise people who have decided they hate the gov and don’t hate you over 6 weeks.
 



The family of Jean Charles De Menezes would disagree ... as would that Portuguese kid who was deported for nicking an ice cream at one of Starmer s night court's during the London riots. Why anyone thinks handing this authoritarian **** a big majority is a positive is beyond me.
