How much money would need to be offered to a player on 150k a week to do that? Answer is a damn site more than it would a player in league 2 on a couple of grand a week. The odds are no better for Premier league games than they are league 2 so they could win the same money betting on 2 crap teams and it would cost a lot less bribe money.

You can't bet a lot of money on a league 2 game without the bookies getting suspicious, as very little normally gets bet on the games. Unusual betting patterns and they don't pay out.
 
there are certainly a lot of things happening these days in the background. suddenly owners leaving or looking for a way out at United, Pool , spurs maybe, Chelsea just changed owners, Newcastle recently too, white paper government thingy (still no idea this is actually something good or just a white toilet paper coming from the horrible UK government), Webb replacing Riley and trying to change things but for him to change things would mean he has to tell his refs to stop holding City back, which is the last thing he would tell them. so he apologizing to Brentford and Arsenal, wonder if he will do it every round to City as well. he did say if another Rashford/Fernandes type goal happens it will be offside most likely given "what the people in the game expect from us and we want to listen to them."

chaotic times overall in multiple fronts, not even just in PL, PSG not far off from imploding imo as a sporting project, Juventus cooking the books while other clubs doing similar "plusvalenza" magic tricks not investigated, or this latest Barcelona referee payments stuff where Tebas interestingly nowhere near as loud as he used to be when commenting on City...

Based on my recollection of players playing so shit as to defy belief, I’ve narrowed it down to about 50 players in the period 1995-2005. Am I in the ball park?
 
Hamman got in trouble betting but managed to pull himself out of trouble that weekend with a win on VJ Singh. He wrote about it in the racing post.

Yes strange times indeed. Regarding ourselves being hindered by referee's and now var too it's something I've been alluding to for years. It shows how good we've been to win what we have done with all the obstacles put in our way. That just relates to on the field of course, before we even get to all the ffp shit created to stall and stop us. Pep has mentioned it many times how we've won everything on our own merit with no help from anybody.

When people talk about us being unfairly hindered, they often concentrate on goals, penalties and offsides being given or not given. There's actually a lot more to it than that. Teams are allowed to spoil the game against us with almost impunity. Kicking us, time wasting, play acting, every trick in the book. The Everton game was probably the one game that highlighted that perfectly, they got away with murder. When frustration naturally creeps in and we decide to do something about it, as the officials won't, we get booked.

I remember a few years ago the premier league said they were going to stamp out such tactics to keep the game flowing and more entertaining. Then when we became so good other teams couldn't lay a glove on us they changed the mantra. Now they're letting the game become more physical, to flow.....yeah right!

We all know what's going on, we see it with our own eyes week after week. We have to be perfect to win games. Obviously we never hear this from any media outlet as it's swept under the rug labelled "Stop City." We even had pundits doing whole sections on how to stop us, from the clever to the neanderphal "Get stuck in/kick them" from the likes of scouse cretins like Murphy.

Football in this country and Europe stinks so hard with corruption and cheating I'm amazed we don't have to wear gas masks to view it.

Yeah that’s obviously ridiculous. Pretty sure, as I’m a big fan of Stones and think he’s hugely underrated and checked this a few times, our win percentage is higher and goals conceded is fewer with him in than him out.

It’s also pretty condescending to Pep or anyone else that that kind of thing wouldn’t be immediately noticeable.

That’s not to say there may well be some elements of truth to other things. It’s credibility out of the window though.
