Nottingham Forest (A) | Post Match Thread

I’m honestly shocked, how can we play that well so many times and draw, we had a draw before we’d touched the ball but cmon we fucking smashed them and only got what we had before we’d kicked a ball, incredible

I didn’t say shit and trusted the process every time this season, but this is where I draw the line.

Haaland, Kev, Laporte all need to hold bench for a couple games.

People blaming the ref are just desperate. I thought Haaland went down too easy and I would have been raging if that was given against us. We had more than enough chances to win this game comfortably but threw it away. Kev was awful and Phil/Erling not far behind with their lack of composure.

Of course we can blame the truly horrific finishing but with 15 mins to go when you could see we weren’t getting a 2nd how do we not make changes and be more solid at the back? On Pep that just as much as the players who couldn’t finish their F*#king dinner!

No excuse for that second half,we should have been out of sight and when our legs were tired and Forest got momentum,Pep should have made changes.

From an amazing first half of wonderful footy to a really naive and poor second.
I think Phil’s brainfart at the start of the second half set the tone.
2-0 then and it was game over.
I know he’s rusty but that was just lack of confidence.

Foden played all game like it was his first game in forever - tried to do too much, was buzzing about the place -but when we needed composure and he simply squares the ball to haaland (who was right place right time) early - we're 2-0 and it's game over - but he fucked it. And it's coz of the above. I don't know whether to blame foden or pep - but probably both.
what about haaland trying to take net off when tapping it in would do

Not good enough, does the team really want it?
I’ve seen dozens of city games go this way. I did say that we needed that 2 because of a possible fluke. I thought our final ball was off despite doing everything else right. We’ve played really well apart from this. Forest we’re terrible but it happens. I joked to my city mate that we’ll probably get a draw after that brilliant win midweek. Unbelievable.

Remember Haaland earlier in the season scoring a hat-trick goal, using brute strength to hold off a defender after Gundogan played it to him, before slamming it in the corner? Then you look at him today where he’s got an even clearer goal scoring opportunity than the one I’m talking about against Palace, and instead of using a bit of strength he blatantly cheats trying to get a red card and penalty, when he could just end the game. I don’t understand it. He’s cost us today, and that’s before we get to his miss.
Given our coaching staff, our awful decision making, set pieces and finishing, its no wonder we seem to be training his strengths out of him

Haaland looks like he has lost a yard of pace and doesn't dominate defenders any more.

Looked like a big lump up front today.

So pissed off with this team this season.

Needs a refresh in summer, big time. More pace and energy.

Shit ref, again. Shit finishing, again.

Fucking wasted our superb result at Arsenal with that bullshit second half performance. What the fuck is the matter with these players?

No one to blame ourselves 84% possession 1st half, how many chances created?
we ain't firing on all cylinders we are looking like getting close to our best but still not as fluid,
I'll take the point and move on, frustrating but it's done

Pivotal weekend and complete reversal of the momentum. Wednesday is now rendered kind of pointless. Foden, Haaland and Laporte cock ups cost us.
Wednesday's win is probably more important now I would say, otherwise we would be 8 behind (if my Maths is right) It certainly does take the gloss of the Emirates result though!
Extremely annoying and frustrating but kind of expected in a way .'Typical City' and all that shit ,how many times have we seen it?? (and it won't be the last for sure)

We battered them 1-1
No lack of effort but some well below standard in quality.
Wtf is up with KDB??????
All in all one of those days.
Regroup and move on.

That Foden was a joke today too by the way, he didn't want to pass the ball to Halland again in an unmissable chance, he only passed when the ball bounced away from him.

Shit defending
Shit finishing
Shit result

I don’t care how we play. We have to win games like that and we fucked it up, just like Everton, just like Brentford.

All that hard work on Wednesday pissed away 3 days later.

So annoying.

It's typical City mate, something we thought we'd finally left behind, but no, the fucker is back to haunt us.

We might as well have got beat on Wednesday and got it over with. A write off season this I'll be amazed if we win anything and I even fear the rags will.pip.us to second place, not that it matters, second is second.

He created the chance himself. If he misses he misses. Foden didn't do either. He neither shot nor passed - and passing was the right choice. There's a reason why haaland joked "foden finally passed to me" earlier in the season.
