Nottingham Forest (A) | Post Match Thread

Hard to take that, feels like a defeat considering the dominance and chances missed. Really frustrating afternoon and annoying after Wednesday's win.

Happens too often getting done by the sucker punch. We played well today but all of that means nothing because the finishing was shite. Relying too much on Haaland getting the goals this season. He has an off day, we struggle to get the goals. That was the big difference in playing the system with no striker, goals could come from anywhere and they did.

On a positive note only 2 points behind and Arsenal are looking decidedly dodgy. Plenty of twists to come.
Tbh we don't really deserve anymore twists after that.
Where's the clinical finishing and even shots on goal? We scored with an attempt outside the box so why the fuck don't we do it more?

Of course we can blame the truly horrific finishing but with 15 mins to go when you could see we weren’t getting a 2nd how do we not make changes and be more solid at the back? On Pep that just as much as the players who couldn’t finish their F*#king dinner!
He never fucking does, so frustrating.

If Kev looked as though he gave a fuck every match we'd be running away with this league. But he's had far too many matches where he's looked uninterested and angry this season. An absolute shadow of previous seasons and that's a concern
Yup...been saying it all season about his attitude.....Pep has alluded to it in a roundabout way

Not good enough, does the team really want it?
I think we do, the intensity of the team was top for most of the match. Its more a sense of we were woefully wasteful in front of goal with the final 3rd decision making of some players suspect.

Foden played all game like it was his first game in forever - tried to do too much, was buzzing about the place -but when we needed composure and he simply squares the ball to haaland (who was right place right time) early - we're 2-0 and it's game over - but he fucked it. And it's coz of the above. I don't know whether to blame foden or pep - but probably both.
Played like a youngster trying to impress and did alright in parts. Has low confidence in his right foot or would have made that pass with it. Costly.

I know it's still a long way to go and no doubt there will be more twists and turns but the same issues keep popping up. Lack of scoring chances, allowing opposition to score with their first chance, lack of motivation. Gundo's probably off, need a new LB and starting to think we might need a new keeper. I'd take the FA Cup this season and go for a big rebuild in the summer.

We are definitely a cup team this season and hopefully over two legs we overcome the champions league hoodoo! Who knows? Will be fun finding out either way

Terrible game management from Pep.

It was so obvious in the 2nd half what Forest wanted to do. Attack Bernado side. He should sub Ake on in the 2nd half and at least react when Wood came on.

Foden was good in the 1st half but unstable in the 2nd half. It is understandable from a player who recently recovered from injury. Wouldn't it be sensible to have him sub off around 1hour? Mahrez and Bernado would be better RW option to finish the game with more pausa.

Walker made a lot of overlapping runs to support Foden. Credit to him today.

KDB need to be subbed in the 2nd half.

Grealish was used much less in the last 30 min. At least 3 times he was open to receive but the teammate decided to not pass to him. Is it an order to save him for midweek? Wouldn't it be better to just have him subbed?

Horrible game management. It is all on you Pep.
Won't be a popular post but sadly you are dead right. Scratching your bald bonce when the game is changing is something we've seen Pep do many times. He changes it at Arsenal and we won today he failed. A genius maybe but he sticks when he should twist.
