Every City pass looks like it’s in slo-mo. No wonder passes to Haaland look so risky - opposition defenses have a few minutes to get reorganized to mark him as City slowly advances upfield.

Compare that to Real’s series of two or three one-touch passes at full sprint that get the ball into the opponent’s box. City’s tactics are not just ineffective, they have made City a dreadful team to watch.

It's not that they don’t want to pass to him. Opponents set up to prevent it. We could take more risks but that can cause problems on transition.

Haaland did get played through and didn't bit the target; he should have.
 
Good result against a German side that has only been beaten once in twenty games , we now have home advantage to finish the tie off , of the four remaining English teams we are easily the better placed to progress.
Leipzig had a good 20 minute spell , cannot understand how their centre back was allowed to put both hands on Dias's shoulders to get to the height to head the ball for the equaliser and the referee did nothing no VAR etc.
The handball in the last minute again is obvious but Var refused to get involved , yet again being stitched u by UEFA , nothing new there.
 
With the not getting the ball to Haaland, could it be that as we have had 2 years without a striker previous to this season, that when the players look for a pass in the final 3rd, they are naturally focusing on too short an area around them, and not where Haaland is, further up, on the shoulder of the defender?

Its a split second decision to look up and decide where to play the ball, and it does feel like they just are not seeing him.
