PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

For me it’s the PL legal / PR guys who have effectively removed this story from the media. It has to be. The initial outcry and adverse / bias publicity from the media was in complete overdrive. Then suddenly - it stops. Completely. Coincidence? I think not. They know if that level of media hysteria continued then we could use it in some way against them in the future. The media were genuinely rabid over this story. Now not a single word is being printed or spoken about it. There will always be some idiot like Delooney who can’t help himself and break ranks, but overall the silence is deafening for me.
 
If we are found guilty there is, as the media joyously told us, a chance we will be playing in the Vanarama (south) League.
Today's announcement by City regarding the stadium expansion is the biggest fuck you they could deliver.
It is my belief that the PL know the charges will be kicked out. It was done to slow revenue streams and put sponsors off. This announcement basically says 'We ain't going anywhere'

I think City need to press on no matter what. The media are probably aware of the leaks during the previous court case and how City used that as some form of evidence. The PL will want to keep this tight.

I'm probably 80% convinced we will be ok but I do have some doubts that maybe some clever accounting may have taken place in the early ADUG years.

If so it shows the PL control the press so they should have controlled them before recent events occurred because one of their members was being victimised.

Perhaps it's my Blue tinted specs but it just feels as if the PL wouldn't go in that hard, whereas I'm pretty sure the club would. Perhaps a joint legal notice handed out to one and all? After all, both the PL & ourselves wanted it kept private initially.

Probably just the irrefutable evidence that will destroy the case against us and they know it.

The charges were brought to damage our reputation even further, in my humble, the PL knew full well they were never going to win.

My little girl came home upset from school yesterday as she said she was eating her lunch when two boys were talking about city and being cheats and a bunch of cheaters. She asked me what city had done so I told her “nothing” . I then told her what to say if they said it again but fortunately my wife overheard and said not to say what daddy said as you might get in trouble.

My point is these kids are 7 and being fed that we are cheats and this and that. The media etc have a lot to answer for with regards to the stuff they are spouting as gospel.

Not having a go mate but we really don't hold all the aces, or even any that I can see. Maybe a "get Out of Jail Free" or a "Joker" card somewhere along the line but as judge, jury and executioner it's the Premier League who hold more aces than us at this stage.

I believe this is the main reason it is being done. The PL know there is no case to answer but their hand is being forced by the red tops (shirts and media).
The whole idea is to try and disrupt us for 3 years. My mates grandson asked me the same the other week. It must make sponsors think twice, certainly players and as you mention, young fans. Why do you support dirty rotten cheaters ? Said to me and its a big fuck off, said to a 7-10 year old and its a big deal.

This is why I defend City in every football squabble i have of late - I hate that tag "cheats". If City had been charged with match fixing, or giving bungs to refs, then sure, that label would be fair enough. For what you're actually being accused of, even if you were found guilty it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to how I perceive your club, as it would be nothing more than using a bit of creative accounting to overcome a massively flawed system that is weighted towards 3 or 4 clubs. In my eyes those 3 or 4 clubs are causing far more damage to the English game than anything Manchester City are accused of. They can't handle the fact that you're better on the pitch and just as good off it these days. I just wish more people could see it.
