PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This is why I defend City in every football squabble i have of late - I hate that tag "cheats". If City had been charged with match fixing, or giving bungs to refs, then sure, that label would be fair enough. For what you're actually being accused of, even if you were found guilty it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to how I perceive your club, as it would be nothing more than using a bit of creative accounting to overcome a massively flawed system that is weighted towards 3 or 4 clubs. In my eyes those 3 or 4 clubs are causing far more damage to the English game than anything Manchester City are accused of. They can't handle the fact that you're better on the pitch and just as good off it these days. I just wish more people could see it.
I’d like to take the opportunity to personally thank you for supporting our club,in all this nonsense. We don’t have many allies thanks to the press, but it’s reassuring to know that there are neutral fans out there that can actually think for themselves and join their own dots together.Well done mate…

I rebutted a Liverpool fan in the pub on Saturday before the Bournemouth match when he repeated the lie that Pep inherited a brilliant team at Barcelona and was jjust a "checkbook manager."
I pointed out that Pep developed Barca's youth players before he became first team manager. The season before (2007/2008) he took over, Barca finished third, 18 points behind winners Real Madrid. Pep shook the team up getting rid of Ronaldhino and Deco and created a totally new style of play. He won the treble in his first season (2008/2009) becoming the youngest ever Manager to win the Champions League (only the third occasion Barca had won it).
The irony is that these moronic LFC and MUFC fans know nothing about the history of football.

I still struggle with the fact that we are basically being accused of cooking the books, the same books that have some of the top independent auditors going through and signing off. Our books have been subjected to repeated audits by Uefa who also were unable to prove we did anything underhand.

For me the key thing behind all of this is have we done anything fraudulent, if we have then we are just plain stupid and deserve to be punished however I think it is much more likely that we have been creative with our accounting in order to comply with whatever rules were in place at the time. Now as long as this accounting falls in line with legal process then we are fine.

I have worked in enough large corporations to know that they move money all over the place in order to save costs and maximise profit. As an example the CFG, if they choose to funnel all the office admin for all the clubs through one central source then that is completely up to us. The fact that other clubs don't or aren't able to do the same is not our issue. If we can demonstrate we are following a sound business model then we are safe.

It just really pisses me off that when you talk to most fans of other clubs they just follow the narrative that we are cheats, some feel we will be punished some thing we will "get off" but hardly anyone considers that we may just be correct and very good at what we do.

I believe this is the main reason it is being done. The PL know there is no case to answer but their hand is being forced by the red tops (shirts and media).
The whole idea is to try and disrupt us for 3 years. My mates grandson asked me the same the other week. It must make sponsors think twice, certainly players and as you mention, young fans. Why do you support dirty rotten cheaters ? Said to me and its a big fuck off, said to a 7-10 year old and its a big deal.
This has been their main tactic for years to stop our momentum

I ask the 2 red cheeks fans to explain how we have cheated, the conversation doesn't last very long

Had a convo on sat night with a rag. Said we cheated which is why we got fined £10m by CAS.
Asked how we cheated then? He said making sponsorship deals up

Told him the real reason we got find by CAS and his reply … “bollocks”

Cant win

An occasion where a butt would have been better than a rebutt.

Always reassuring to find an outsider with the intelligence and free thinking to see it for what it is.

Someone pointed out a bit back to make this stick they need to persuade the 'court' that City's witnesses lied on oath.

Given that the witnesses are not Eric from the Council estate with a long track record of burglary and torching cars, but top professionals and people of extraordinary wealth and international influence, I say 'good luck with that.'

No one is suggesting that our accounts are fraudulent or our auditors have done anything wrong. Audits are not there to prevent fraud. Our auditors are not expected to go to the Middle East to try the impossible task of verifying the original source of funds coming into the club. In fact, if we were accused of some criminal charge I would be more comfortable. The standard of evidence required would no doubt ensure that most of the PL accusations would be immediately thrown out.

Without wishing to downplay what are obviously very serious accusations against our club, I look upon this case more like the situation where you join your local golf club and you agree to abide by the regulations but do not. The committee may throw you out. This case is dealt with on a far more formal basis than would happen at your local golf club but nevertheless it is a civil and not criminal case and the rules may enable "evidence" to be brought forward that would not otherwise be allowed and which may be judged upon by looking at the balance of probabilities.

The PL have decided, after being goaded by the cartel and UEFA, if you can't beat City on the pitch, the only option is to throw the rule book at us and hope something sticks. The anti City agenda has been clear for years. We have upset the party. City will no doubt fight hard. However, when we are cleared of the main charges there will still be the rival fans who will say that City cheated because its the only victory they can achieve in their corrupted little minds. Come on City!

Could city’s lawyers not start the ball rolling now on suing the cunts now for defamation of character by PL announcing false charges publicly?
If city said we have evidence of PL being corrupt and want an independent investigation into it. And announced this publicly. Would we be allowed to get away with that?
What’s the difference?

As you say we will be cleared of the main charges but some of the minor shit will stick which will allow Jordan et Al to claim we we found guilty.

Fuckoff you inbred 6 fingered wankers.

I really hope we batter these pricks tonight, know nothing gobshites.

That has really pissed me off.

There you go premier league, mission accomplished, especially if all these fuckin wurzels are coming up with shit like this.

It’s impossible for us to be guilty and for all other clubs to be whiter than white, we know about the Dippers cheating FFP and the Rags having their HQ in the Cayman Isles but what about other teams and the whole raft of dodgy dealings, from Agents to Sponsors and anything in between.
But the other clubs don’t need to prove it. We do. Big difference unfortunately
