Keir Starmer

Corbyn was represented as a Commie, when he was actually, by European standards, a bog-standard democratic socialist or left-wing social democrat.

That tells you all you need to know about this country and its poisonous press/media. That includes the 'left-wing' Guardian (actually Liberal at best) and BBC (Tory lickspittles in the news and current affairs part.)

Corbyn wanted us to have the scandavian economic/social model. Ironically those countries are lauded by many here. Yet the media made him out to be a mix of Stalin/Chavez and Pol Pot.

Corbyn’s problem wasn’t his politics particularly, it was his image and his judgment. In particular he was spectacularly wrong about Russia both in 2018 with Salisbury and more recently with the Ukraine invasion. Whilst his domestic policies would have been infinitely better than the shit show being delivered by the current lot, appeasement of Putin isn’t a good look and could be downright dangerous. Thankfully Labour now have a leader that has both the policies (assuming he adopts most of the 2019 manifesto) and the judgment. There have been some missteps from Starmer for example with him being too timid in some areas like the latest BBC debacle and not giving unequivocal support to many workers fighting for cost of living pay rises, but thanks to the power of the right wing media he is hamstrung to a large extent and the focus has to be getting rid of the current lot even if he doesn’t sound radical enough in opposition.

All MPs make me cringe with this shit not toxic enough for my liking needs some ''your mum'' jokes and death threats.
Would certainly make things more interesting

Hunt "and these measures will help more people back into work"

Starmer " is that why your mum was back on the street corner last night?"

Hunt " you what??? You want some Mr Creosote?"

Starmer " I had some last night Hunt ya ****"

All the theatre and play acting for the crowd pisses me off, makes a mockery out of the serious issues they're meant to be talking about and fixing.

Should have stopped there.

As in he gave a measured response and argued the case that a serious incident like that should be pursued through the relevant multinational agencies? In the same response he attempted to shine a light with regard to Russian influence on the party opposite.... to widespread heckling from his own MP's.

Hardly spectacularly wrong...

So to emphasise your point you go into hypotheticals 3 years on........ he's gone get over it.

Fucking lol. Never mind assuming stop pretending.

Don't disagree but the point is 'getting rid of the current lot' doesn't address the root cause that is our shit political and media culture.

If we are laying down charges of appeasement, isn't that what Starmer is doing?

Corbyn’s measured response about Salisbury? You’re having a laugh. He publicly compared the intelligence briefing he was given with the Iraq dodgy dossier. Then at the time of the Ukraine invasion he was urging everyone who would listen not to arm Ukraine. Labour are well shut and it’s a shame his fans can’t get behind his replacement in spite of any concerns that Starmer isn’t far enough to the left.
