It is a very strange time. The agenda is set by social media and the clickbait culture is dominant. Traditional media is dying and it's not clear what will replace it yet. Most media organisations seem to have abandoned the concept of impartiality. Many reporters, especially in the regions, are given clickbait targets to achieve with their content. This is what drives them...not pursuit of the truth in any story.

Agreed and very little to stop them writing what they want. Probably true to say defamation used to be more of a deterrent than it is now.

The problem with defamation is that so many of the cowboy freelancers do not have deep pockets so there is no point suing them. Just a waste of time and money. That said I really think we should have had a go at the worst culprits like the BBC and Daily Mail who have both published false (and libellous) content on occasions. These organisations have the biggest audience and most influence.

If it happens this deal will receieve no scrutiny and no criticism in the media. There will be no talk of human rights abuses in Qatar or problems with migrant workers. The puppets at the top of the PL will just wave it through. As Khaldoon said: "organised and clear."
On a positive note it is increasingly clear that opposition fans are starting to see through this charade. You see more and more sarcastic online comments from fans of other clubs on propaganda stories in the media about MUFC. It must be a real eye-opener for Newcastle fans who used to slag off City.

Same as the sponsorships deals they have had for over 10 years with state owned Saudi Telecom and others which have had hardly any media outcry

Absolutely- & furthermore if this Sheik buys the rags, it certainly won’t be state owned will it :). Even though the guy is only worth 1/6th of what he will be spending on the club…….

Unlike City who are owned by a wealthy group of individuals & who bought our club for peanuts compared with what it’s worth now - Qatar will definitely own the rags.

I do hope it is clickbait but Newcastle did eventually get taken over and there is too much traction in this for it not happen either. The only question is do the prospective buyers do have the necessary funds.

This only hardens my suspicion that they're using united to prop up the shopping malls, via using the shares as security for their borrowing. Either that or they're looking to borrow more money to rebuild the swamp.

There's a huge flaw in his plan though. Even if he manages to raise the $3bn required to purchase his half of the club, he still needs to find a billion rags willing to part with $3, which is probably around 3 rags for every halfway serious football fan (of any club) worldwide.

Yup. Seems he believes rag nonsense PR. In the unlikely event of his offer being accepted, a big shock follows when two old lags from Surrey are the only takers.
