The Conservative Party

Can’t excuse Sunak entirely, but I would cut him just a tiny amount of slack in that regard. He spent the whole of last summer warning all and sundry that Truss’ ideas would be a complete disaster, and it took less than 49 days for that to be confirmed.

He spent 2 years funnelling money to Tory donors and then claiming it wasn't worth it or able to be recovered and is now acting/claiming like some mystery external forces needed that to happen and its something Joe Public needs to be taxed to pay for it

Hence my cannot excuse him entirely comment. The inability (nay reluctance) to pursue these monies is scandalous.

As long as the electoral system rewards either of the main protagonists with unlimited power, then neither will ever vote for something that dilutes it. That will only happen when others hold the balance of power and make legislated electoral reform a condition of their participation in any coalition, in my humble.

As for the media landscape, that will continue to become more fragmented and extreme, but there is no reason why all the parties could not agree to free the BBC from political influence, again enshrined in legislation.

That would just leave the horrible influence that the lobbyists wield…

A better press or at least a section of the media that wasn't in effect a special interest group might assist with the final of those problems, darkness cannot abide the light and all that.

I think the fact the economy hasn’t imploded as many (including me) predicted will help as will the improving position in Ukraine (assuming that happens).

Think many of the red wall seats will be lost as the people there will have (inevitably) seen no discernible improvement in their lives, or worse and the issue of immigration (for them) will have got worse.

As ever it will be about a sixth of the seats in the country, the likes of Stroud, Bury (N&S) and Gedling (none of which I would classify as ‘red wall’) that will determine the outcome.

What an absolute fucking joke of a system.
I expect the Tories to win the next election with a very small majority, the big question is what happens now the SNP have imploded plus Starmer is uninspiring.

He is a liberal globalist rather than a socialist internationalist.

The Tory anti immigration stance has legs, it appeals to the base interests of English nationalism, dressed up as English patriotism. Stopping small boats is an incredibly powerful message to send to communities that have virtually no immigration at all. The "OTHERING" of people wins votes,

A few pages back i posted a quote by Mussolini, the UK is not heading towards nazism, but it shows signs of heading towards fascism.

You are right as well our democratic system is a fucking joke, it is designed to preserve the rights of the privilged,

Mr Sunak hopes the measures will stamp out the scourge of anti-social behaviour "once and for all".

Jesus Christ. They really have lost the plot, or are speaking to people without the sense they were born with, carefully nurtured to fruition.

In general, this is such a miss the point moment, where the main focus seems to be on the key policy pillar of the use of 'hi-viz jackets', that I'm pretty sure they are throwing the next election.

There are only two ways I can think of, which would reasonably be expected to end "anti-social behaviour" for once and for all.

1. Stop using the term "anti-social behaviour". Forever.
2. Eradicate every last human from existence.

And thinking about it, number one is only possible if we enact number one.

That is the only way anything to do with humans will ever be, "For once and for all".

You surely aren't talking about the next general election?
Next election is done. All signs show "the group", the public, has already begun shifting around the clear expectation that it will demand a change. Tories can't get it back. One Nation won't stand for the really big stunts. Newbies are clueless, hell bent on undoing any reputation One Nation's good work might win the party. Adverse financial situation strongly predicts the incumbent is punished. Linekar and then Boris' Standards Committee excoration have changed the tone. Words, lengthy words, even full paragraphs are back. Standards and history are in. Law is in. It was the violence implied by Brexit, the will of the people, and stoked by Boris as a figurehead, that ever meant they went out of fashion.

What sort of politician is going to benefit from that? What sort of background might they have?

Well, apart from one in Red who springs to mind, there's all the Tories that Boris dumped.

2024 is a done deal. Tories get 200 if they are lucky. They have no partners apart from the DUP.

Opened my mail yesterday (Electric Bill) to find that my daily standing charge has now increased by 10% to 55.6pence per day.

This is following the Tory sell off of the National Grid to an Australian Hedge Fund, the Chinese and the Qataris.

F@CKING JOKE ......
